This is entirely incorrect. Or more accurately put, a complete and total lie. Just like the purchase of a firearm a form 4473 must still be filled out and the same background check will be preformed.
A court just struck down background check and registration requirements for silencers, short-barreled rifles & shotguns because Trump and Congressional Republicans slashed proven safeguards. They would rather enrich their gun industry CEO campaign donors than keep Americans safe.

Even within some large states like Texas there can be significant differences. Lush and green East Texas looks nothing like the desert oil rich regions of West Texas. South Texas along the Gulf Coast looks different still.
