يجري حالياً في موريتانيا التدريب الميداني للدفعة الثالثة من برنامج الماجستير في علوم الجراد الصحراوي، وذلك بهدف إعداد الجيل القادم من الخبراء في مجال مكافحة الجراد.
ويشمل التدريب دراسة بيولوجيا الجراد وبيئته، وتقنيات المسح، وجمع البيانات، وأدوات الرصد الحديثة، وتقنيات المكافحة الارضية والجوية وبإستخدام الطائرات المسيرة.

في الفترة من 20 إلى 25 سبتمبر 2026، اجتمع متخصصو الجراد الصحراوي من هيئات مكافحة الجراد من المنطقة الوسطى والمنطقة الغربية في موريتانيا لحضور الدورة التدريبية الإقليمية الثانية التي تقودها منظمة الأغذية والزراعة حول تكنولوجيا الطائرات بدون طيار.
تلقى المشاركون تدريباً على تخطيط المهام، وعمليات الطيران، ومعايرة أجهزة الرش، وإجراءات السلامة، وجمع البيانات باستخدام طائرة الرش المسيرة (U16). وكان الهدف من ذلك تحسين الكشف المبكر عن الإصابات ومكافحتها قبل تفاقمها وتهديدها للمحاصيل وسبل العيش.
From 20 to 25 September 2026, desert locust specialists from CRC and CLCPRO gathered in Mauritania for the second FAO-led regional training on drone technology. The programme combined classroom learning with field practice to strengthen rapid, precise and safer locust control
Participants were trained in mission planning, flight operations, spray calibration, safety procedures & data collection using the U16 spray drone. The objective was to improve the early detection & control of infestations before they escalated & threatened crops and livelihoods.
تستضيف وزارة الثروة الزراعية والسمكية وموارد المياه بسلطنة عُمان ورشة عمل إقليمية خلال الفترة 14-17 سبتمبر لمراجعة واعتماد واستكمال خطة تنفيذ مشروع الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية (AFD) بعنوان: "تعزيز الإدارة الوقائية للجراد الصحراوي في المنطقة الوسطى والقرن الإفريقي الكبير".
من المتوقع أن تشمل النتائج إنشاء وحدات وطنية مستقلة للجراد، وتحسين نظم الإنذار المبكر، ورفع مستوى الجاهزية لمواجهة الفاشيات، وزيادة استخدام التقنيات الحديثة في عمليات المسح والمكافحة.
من المنتظر أن تختتم الورشة باعتماد إطار تنفيذي متفق عليه وخطوات عملية للمرحلة المقبلة، بما يعزز العمل الجماعي لمواجهة أحد أخطر الآفات العابرة للحدود في العالم.

Oman's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources hosted a regional workshop (14–17 Sept) to validate & finalize the implementation plan of the AFD-funded project “Strengthening Preventive Desert Locust Management in the Central Region and the Greater Horn of Africa"
Expected outcomes include autonomous national locust units, improved early-warning systems, greater readiness for outbreaks, and increased use of modern technologies in survey and control operations
The workshop is expected to conclude with an agreed implementation framework and practical next steps, reinforcing collective action against one of the world's most destructive transboundary pests.
