In 1977, a man held someone hostage for 63 hours, then demanded a LIVE press conference so he could tell the world why he did it.
And somehow, they actually let him.
Tony Kiritsis kidnapped mortgage executive Richard “Dick” Hall in Indianapolis over a financial dispute.
After nearly three days, Kiritsis agreed to release Hall, but first he wanted an audience.
So there he was, standing in front of reporters, delivering an angry speech with a loaded shotgun still aimed at his hostage.
And the whole thing was being televised.
Hall survived, and Kiritsis was later found not guilty by reason of insanity.
This is the actual press conference from February 10, 1977.
This is insane to see.
