Our Dolphins Breakdown 2027 quarterback production rankings are based on what each player has produced this season. We used 2026 passing statistics through October 10 and ranked draft-eligible FBS and FCS quarterbacks by NCAA passing efficiency, requiring at least four games played and 75 passing attempts.
The formula:
[(8.4 × passing yards) + (330 × passing touchdowns) + (100 × completions) − (200 × interceptions)] ÷ passing attempts.
This rewards completion rate, yards per attempt, and touchdown rate while penalizing interceptions. Every quarterback is evaluated using the same calculation. Height, weight, and age provide context but do not affect the rankings.
The formula does not include rushing production or adjust for strength of schedule. These rankings measure passing efficiency; evaluating NFL potential also requires film study and context.
Drew Mestemaker, Trinidad Chambliss, and Arch Manning are our three honorable mentions as we continue tracking the class.
Formula verified against the NCAA’s football statistics manual.
