Along with Luka being Moses in creation play-types, heβs also at a career high in spacing/off-ball volume (7.7 TSA) while maintaining a career-best 67.5 TS% (+12.1 rTS) on those play-types.
Of the 13 players with a creation freq of 50%+, Luka is 1 of just 5 with a spacing freq of at least 20%.
Does he still demand a ton of on-ball creation? Absolutely, but outside of Reaves thereβs really nobody to alleviate that pressure. Yet heβs still managing to maintain a highly scalable off-ball game, with a heavy diet of pin-down actions and elite movement shooting. Pretty ridiculous to have that level of creation responsibility while still providing this much value away from the ball.

last time luka had a 40% usage in the offs was β22 & that team had no business making it to the wcf.
since then, heβs been on par usage wise with every star in the offs
youβre making a problem about something he hasnβt done in 5 years & not making it about the roster build

Luka Doncic has had to do it for his entire career but the narrative is spun in a negative way. Media picks and chooses
Brian Windhorst says Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is taking on a 2015 Finals LeBron James role for the injured Thunder
"Shai is turning into 2015 Finals LeBron. He has taken more shots in the last two games than any other two games of his career. He has missed 36 shots β the most shots heβs ever missed in a two-game span in his career... He is doing everything he possibly can to carry the Thunder."
Differential perception at its finest. Apparently, when Luka manipulates a defense, dictates its positioning, forces rotations, creates advantages, and consistently puts defenders in impossible decisions, itβs only so he can shoot more.
I feel bad for anyone who can watch that level of basketball excellence and somehow convince themselves theyβre witnessing a player who doesnβt understand the art of playmaking.

Wemby is shooting sub 50% as a fucking center and sub 30% from 3 if this was βoffensive player of the year awardβ he wouldnβt even be in the top 5 so stop crying

Brunson has a higher t.o.p. He had a 40% usage in the finals. Luka had a 32% usage in the 2024 playoffs, on par with SGA/Brunson. He faced the best team this decade:
Luka teams included bargain bin shopping due to lack of assets.
You could easily research, but choose not to
