We're hiring! Join the DiMartino Lab @UniofOxford as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Device Materials & Nano-Optics. Work on nanoscale light–matter interactions, advanced device materials, and nonlinear optics for next-generation computing and memory technologies-link below

We studied how oxygen vacancies form in ferroelectric Hf₁₋ₓZrₓO₂ and found that it’s not just about how much Zr you add, but where it sits locally.
Key idea:
Zr doesn’t significantly change the energy cost of forming vacancies - it changes how many favourable sites are available.
Under an electric field, vacancies can also change charge state, which opens up many more pathways for them to move.
I’m thrilled to share that I will join the Department of Materials @UniofOxford and @StAnnesCollege as an Associate Professor.
My entire research group will also be transferring from the University of Cambridge — we are all incredibly excited!
