RESOLVED. If I believe that God has spoken with clarity and finality in his word, I should act like it in my doctrine and in my practice. In short, I should reflect my confidence in the God who has spoken in every area of my life.

I read this as: while being hunted and persecuted by dragons!?! My brain was trying to figure out why I’d never read that in any church history books! 🤣🤣
Fun fact: In the 1680s, Scottish historians that the Covenanters witnessed various some forms of supernatural apparitions while being hunted and persecuted by dragoons throughout the Scottish isles and mainland. Presbyterian Fatima, when?

Another one that fits this “same dish but worlds apart” thing is Paella. It’s crazy how everyone thinks (in America anyway) it’s like $200 dollars of seafood, when it’s traditionally rabbit, snails, whatever you have, just humble peasant food Probably a bunch more we could name
Made gumbo tonight. In my experience there’s often two very different versions of a dish, bougie or backwoods. This is definitely the latter. Homemade Tasso and smoked turkey necks. I’m from as far from the bayou as one can be, but I like to think I’d fit in down there.

I've been listening to some dispensational podcasts as of late, and I keep bumping up against a problem. 🚦 According to a lot of dispensationalists, an interpreter holds to dispensationalism or "replacement theology." I'm a covenant theologian but I don't hold to replacement theology. The church doesn't replace Israel. The church is the CONTINUATION of true Israel in Christ. NT believers are joined to OT believers as the covenant community. That's not replacement.

I have a certain sympathy for what this is trying to push back against. There is a large segment of evangelicalism that commit hyper red-letterism, and in practice deny the Trinity Unfortunately, this post makes the same basic error.
The Bible isn’t about Jesus. It’s certainly not about you. Jesus is not the main character in the story of the Bible. God the Father is. He is the one with the problem. Jesus is the solution to the problem. The problem is man.

Last night my daughter discovered a northern flicker that the cats injured, but didn’t kill. She immediately saw a rescue project, so it’s now in a rabbit cage and we’re picking up supplies at the feed store. My friend flicker.

It is remarkable to so how faith triumphs (or non faith fails) in a scene involving all the intrigue of international politics The faith of the kings of Judah in the covenant promises determines the course of nations more than the strength of the mightiest monarchs O P Robertson

This entire episode has been very revealing. One wonders, would this be the response if it was a, Black man, citizen? White man, not a citizen?

I suppose I’m the same sort of “moderate” I don’t have a problem with a nation deciding who can go there, or stay there. But it’s also very possible to believe you’ve done everything correctly, yet there be a clerical error outside your control. Foaming at the mouth for sure.
Two thoughts because I’m a moderate: Deportation is not a sin against a fellow Christian. I find it interesting how many “I hate bureaucracy” bros are foaming at the mouth declaring that even to miss a deadline or make a paperwork mistake is a henious sin that God hates.

Things Christians need to understand about this site, 1. It’s not real life A great amount of fake and gay, including by those who decry such things 2. Crying “slander” is meaningless. Often it means: you quoted me & I’m mad 3. Unequal ⚖️ Enemies get the 🪓 no matter the facts

The highest irony today is the that same guys loudly proclaiming Samuel Sey isn’t a Christian because they disagree with him about obviously secondary issues Are the same dudes that claim all you gotta do is “affirm the Apostles creed and you’re a Christian” Equal scales maybe?

I took my family up to 🇨🇦 last week for vacation. I have absolutely no problem with a country deciding who can/cannot visit or live there. But the notion of suddenly finding out there’s a problem when they arrest you, truly nightmare stuff. I don’t wish that on anyone.

What is an “effeminate hobby” I really want to know. Maybe we should have a church council to declare which hobbies are allowed for Christian men, and which ones aren’t.
Replying to @Modern1689
The ad hominem was intentional. The fact that entire denominations’ clergy all lean VERY heavy towards the effeminate in their likes, hobbies, appearance, and tastes should be an alarm. But you’re blind.

This is consumerism driven Christianity, just as much as the big-Eva box church. There’s simply a different checklist. Bro I’m sorry your pastor isn’t into whatever pastime is your favorite, but that’s not his job. And leaving the church shows your consumerist mindset.
Replying to @OrthodoxPC
As a member of a confessional reformed Church, the problem is in fact masculinity. Most clergy I meet are either 110lbs soaking wet and into board games, or 80lbs overweight and like to talk about how proud they are of their daughter who is a boss babe or sportsball. I left the church for awhile as a young man due to effeminate churches. I used to question men who attended church on how they could attend a women’s club. The seminaries and the selection process are broken. They churn out the exactly wrong type of man needed.

My brother once asked me what the difference was between a thriller vs a horror movie I said I didn’t know He said the difference is in focus a thriller makes you scared the protagonist may fail, that bad might triumph. But a horror film glorifies evil it wants the dark to win
