If your goal is to harm trans people, toy should do that. If your goal isn't to harm trans people, then you shouldn't. But at least own whichever it is you want to do.
Leaning toward leaving Senate blank. Not gonna vote for Hinson, obviously, but I'm also not terribly interested in doing my part to add the next Fetterman to the Senate. Best of luck to Josh in finding his mythical moderate republicans.

It's very easy to understand why Democrats would support voting for someone they have some issues with over voting for a fascist.
Look, I'll take it. But I don't get why Carney and Kamala partisans are cheering on Lula Bolsonaro is objectively closer to your ideological worldview

A decade ago, the media joined with the Trump campaign to try to convince you that Hillary was near death because she got sick for a week. She's still here, lighting up his senile ass, while the media covers for Trump while he shits himself and babbles incoherently.
Hillary Clinton: “The Republican Party is no longer a political party, it is a cult devoted to Trump and Trump’s power. The Republican Party needs a total transformation. If we’re gonna have a healthy government that actually gets things done and delivers for people, the Republican Party has to purge itself of everybody that lost both their conscience and their backbone over the last ten years and that’s most of them”

Ben Shapiro is pro-child rape.
Vivek Ramaswamy’s ad is apparently unprecedented. It would be just awful to activate all the members of a politician’s family to attack them…as the Democrats did with every member of RFK’s family. youtube.com/watch?v=ww9fTNrW…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton's mother has been estranged from her daughter for 48 years because she sided with her husband (Acton's stepfather) when Acton reported that her stepfather had sexually assaulted her. That is different than RFK Jr.'s family, whose criticism of RFK Jr is focused on policy. dispatch.com/story/news/loc…

Neera is right about almost everything and it makes leftist men furious.
I. Literally. Said. This. Over. The. Summer. And a million firebreathing lefties yelled at me.

I sincerely hope that Mallory considers a civil suit and explores ways to press criminal charges. It would be a huge public service to do so. I am sorry for what happened to her and always believed she would have been the best Michigan Senator.
As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment" - Donations dried up - Volunteers were devastated and pleading for guidance on what to do - Reporters hounded me with calls to drop out Sure, a point was proven. Polling is broken. But tens of thousands of people poured their hearts, time, energy, hard-earned money into something they believed in - for a year-and-a-half, and it was treated like a game. Our volunteers gave their all. And then some. I felt like I had let so many of them down. To be extremely clear, Michigan Democrats are locked in to beat Mike Rogers. We WILL send @AbdulElSayed to the US Senate. But between crap like this, endless fundraising texts that drive supporters away with spammy fake deadlines and trash "match" claims, scam PACs run rampant for firms to grift without actually supporting candidates, undisclosed content creators pushing content out either misrepresenting themselves as residents of states they don't live in or hiding whether they were paid and by who so they could make a buck, and the tidal wave of dark money ads -- I hope Democrats are ready to blow up the system with campaign finance and transparency reforms. Trust is already at an all-time low. We don't get out of this mess without rebuilding trust. And media - who loves to ride the drama of a pollercoaster - needs to take a hard look at what's legitimate and what's not. If this teaches us anything - DON'T GET COMPLACENT AND DON'T TRUST THE POLLS. LOCK IN. SIGN UP FOR A CANVASSING SHIFT. LEAVE NOTHING TO CHANCE OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

I don't know if I would publicly admit to a crime like this.
So it turns out Wedgewood polls is just a bogus polling firm.

Even the National Review is putting a boot to Vivek's neck over this. What a monstrous move by him.
NEW: Following the release of an ad in which her mother, Donna Arthur, attacks her, court records obtained by @NRO confirm key parts of Amy Acton’s personal history, including that she was sexually abused by her stepfather while Arthur was married to him nationalreview.com/news/amy-…

Congrats @StrikeDebt! You did this!
The Trump admin is moving forward on plans to impose financial penalties on Americans in default on their federal student loans and hire private debt collectors to go after them. The plans are unlikely to be announced until after the midterms. washingtonsun.com/economy/tr…

Sorry, but you'll have to do your 12 hour shift in the state run cobalt mine before you get to do your poems.
A big part of why Communism appeals to me is the idea of unlocking the true creative potential of humanity and removing the obstacles preventing excellence. Capitalism stifles human ingenuity, who knows what brilliant things we can do once we are free.

I’ve had a lot of people asking me about the botched execution of Christa Pike in Tennessee, as well as the upcoming execution by firing squad that’s supposed to be livestreamed. Having spent nearly 20 years on death row, my thoughts and feelings about these things are so vast that I sometimes struggle to find a place to begin. I became close friends with a man who had committed murder. He was like a brother to me. I once watched him break down crying, trembling as he told me he wished he was as evil as the world believed him to be, because then he wouldn’t have to care about what he’d done. Fifteen years later, he was still having nightmares about it. I know in my soul that he would never hurt another person again. But I’ve also watched a man being stabbed to death in prison. I cried for days afterward, and something inside me was changed forever. I learned that some people are capable of extraordinary transformation, while others remain capable of terrible violence even behind prison walls. There are no simple answers here. No slogans or political arguments that can adequately address the complexity of human beings, guilt, punishment, and suffering. But there is one thing I want to say about the upcoming execution by firing squad. Don’t watch it. Whatever you believe about the death penalty, even if you think the person being executed deserves to die, don’t watch it. You cannot witness a human being being killed and simply walk away unchanged. What you see becomes part of you. It follows you into places you never expected it to reach. There are things I witnessed in prison that I would give anything to forget, things that still cast a shadow over my life decades later. There’s a difference between understanding that terrible things happen in the world and deliberately making yourself a spectator to them. I don’t have all the answers about justice, punishment, or forgiveness. But I do know that killing another human being should never become so ordinary that we turn it into something to watch from the comfort of our living rooms.

People who say this do not care about human lives at all.
Netanyahu is irrelevant. If he wins or loses Israel will behave the same. Trump is irrelevant. If he wins or loses US foreign policy will be the same.

Gas is $1.25 a gallon more than the same time last year, the Fed is raising rates, American soldiers have lost their lives, and we've depleted our arsenal of weapons. But at least the average Iranians who are oppressed by the regime are poorer! Victory!!!
Looks like the US basically won its war with Iran?? No terminal oil price spike to date. 🛢️ Total flows now at prewar levels (minus Iran). It just skirts Hormuz now. And Iran's economy is in a tailspin. > Do nothing > Win Iran fired its Hormuz gun and it was a water squirt.

There's a reason why Netanyahu openly wanted Trump to win. That was always clear. What will always never make any sense is how Gaza activists went along with it.
“The Situation Room connected the call. Biden jumped in. “Bibi, man, what the fuck are you doing?” He gripped the phone tight. “You think I’m Santa Claus? No Santa in Israel, pal.” theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0…

It's actually a sign of a democracy that political leaders don't control the police and unilaterally tell them which laws to enforce and not to enforce.
I say this in the nicest way possible. People think Mamdani has power over the NYPD bc they believe we live in a democracy. The NYPD is a mafia-like military force that protects big capital and empire. They are above Mamdani in the order of power.
