The authorities of St. Petersburg have canceled the payment of 1.6 million rubles for participation in the special military operation for volunteers, Fontanka reported. According to the publication, several servicemen who had not received the money found out about the cancellation after contacting the district social protection offices. They were told that the money was not due because on August 26, 2025, a St. Petersburg decree was adopted, according to which 1.6 million rubles have not been transferred since August 1. "In fact, the right to the payment was terminated retroactively," one of them said.
