ESPN & the SEC are the 2 largest culprits of the growing disdain amongst college football fans.
They're in bed together. Everyone knows it. And they continue to drive this thing full speed ahead to an impending brick wall.

I love that ESPN came out with a blind resume ranking tool for fans and it backfired because, without logos, the SEC plummeted and people rewarded the Group of 6 team

Hey guys can you believe we ranked all the teams that we have a TV deal with for the playoff that we own?
History! Wow. How’d they do it?

The CFP selection committee picks and chooses when it wants to use its own protocols.
This week, it decided to apply them differently to Alabama and Tennessee. Indiana and Notre Dame. Utah and UCLA.
For no good reason!

Notre Dame is the highest rated team by Sagarin and FPI, is 3rd in SP+, has a Top 3 unit in both offensive and defensive efficiency ratings and the Irish are 11th? Seems a little off.

I warned people the MOMENT they came up with the “SOS” it was going to be a complete sham.
None of it is real. The 24-team playoff will feature 10-12 SEC teams every season.
The sport is not in a good place.

Hunter Yurachek got on National Television and propped up Alabama for its win over Mississippi State

CFP Ranking Criteria (in order of importance):
1-Conference Logo
2-Team Logo
3-Quality Losses (losses to teams with the right conference logo)
4-Quality Wins (wins against teams with the right conference logo)
That's it. That's the criteria.

Talked about my 80% résumé (SOR, Résumé SP+), 20% quality (SP+, FPI) computer rankings mix in the Sunday column. The CFP committee is FAR more skewed toward the SEC than the computers. 2.6 spots per team, on average. Good lord.

The real federal law we need is to take the CFP away from ESPN. It's a massive conflict of interest.
—> ESPN pays $4 billion for SEC media rights
—> ESPN pays for exclusive CFP media rights
—> ESPN airs the ONLY CFP selection show
—> ESPN creates a mystery Power Index that the CFP uses for SOR and SOS
ESPN then proceeds to rank Alabama #5, Kentucky #6 and two loss Texas at #7
All while ranking undefeated UCLA #8, one loss BYU #9 and one loss Notre Dame #11
But I’m just a conspiracy theorist, got it
Beat Stanford by 54.
Beat Virginia by 44.
Beat Cal by 34 on the road.
Beat NC State by 24 on the road.
Beat Louisville (on the road) by the same margin that Ole Miss did.
But, they lost one singular game to the best team in College Football so they get shoved down to #16 and treated like crap, while 2-loss SEC teams get gifted spots in the Top 5.
Unbelievable.

We have seen some terrible CFP rankings over the years, but this set is particularly insane and inconsistent.

This committee spent 2 days in a hotel ballroom with every stat known to man, every ounce of game film at their fingertips and still came out with a ranking that made the AP voters look like geniuses.
Thankfully they took their hats off tho.

Kirk Ferentz said “we’re not an ESPN conference so we probably won’t make the rankings.”
😂😂
These morons “in charge” keep trying their best to ruin the best sport in the world. Loved it every day of my life and they just keep making it worse, gonna lose me. How the F is Bama 5?!?
