Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, open sea lanes, a stable financial system, collective security ... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition ... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

I’ve spent a chunk of the week laughing at the hysteria that followed ⁦@JEChalmers⁩ essay. Really ridiculous. But it is a reminder for a government that’s enjoyed a honeymoon - change is hard. Here’s the column #auspol theguardian.com/australia-ne…

Every 24 hours we need to re-up: 1. Sleep 2. Morning Sunlight 3. Exercise 4. Nutrients (even if from body stores) 5. Water The fact that we can survive >24hrs without one or several of these, is irrelevant. Health flourishes when we make getting all 5 of these a daily priority.

The complete erosion of women's rights by the Taliban is truly alarming. Taliban remain as hardliners and brutal as they were 25 years ago. We also fear the potential repeat of the massacres of the most vulnerable, marginalised and immediate high-risk groups such as the Hazaras.

From this Thursday onwards, all female-run shops & businesses will be shut down in Balkh province, as the Taliban continue their crackdown against women in Afghanistan. Running their own shops was the last option for these women to earn a living for themselves and their families.

It's very disappointing that Australian Community Media is seeking to remove @withMEAA's Code of Ethics from its Enterprise Agreement @ballaratcourier The Code is key to ensuring public confidence & trust in journalism, and shows the way for reporters.
