There are football players who look great in padless practice drills and there are players who look great in pads on the football field. Omar Cooper Jr.’s best traits always translated best in pads on the football field and that’s what actually matters.
It’s funny because players like Puka, Rashee Rice, Mike Evans, Deebo, DK Metcalf will look slow as hell running these drills. Yet they’re all productive every season. And every offseason, fans continuously fall in love with these shifty, undersized receivers (KLS, Cyrus Allen) who look good in drills and 1-on-1s, but never actually produce on the field. If they had no idea who they were, I guarantee these people would tell you Greg Dortch looks like a better receiver Tee Higgins based off receiver drills and 1-on-1s

No football coaching job requires 15+ hours per day in the office. Get in, get your work done and go home to relax while enjoying family. Things that facilitate winning 1. Have good players (Most importantly) 2. Have players who are healthy, not burnt out and clear mind on game day 3. Don’t over complicate the system 4. Be able to communicate to players Things that don’t facilitate winning 1. Being in the office for 15+ hours per day

I respectfully disagree with this mentality! Coaches are already overworked and underpaid as it is. Reducing stipends for coaches who don’t have a CDL is the wrong approach and will only push more coaches out of the profession. If districts need more coaches to obtain their CDL, incentivize it through additional compensation rather than penalizing those who don’t have one. Coaches already give countless hours beyond the school day to serve their student-athletes. We should be looking for ways to RETAIN quality coaches, not create more reasons for them to leave the profession! 💯🏈🏀🏌️‍♂️

Kyle Shanahan says great defenses shouldn't have to trick their opponents “Coverages are coverages. Fronts are fronts. It’s very rare that a team just does something nobody else does. They just do it better.” “You try to find ways to attack it, and you can always come up with some new ways in the offseason, but usually a new way has to do with putting a different player in a different spot and finding a better matchup.” “Seattle is pretty much the same scheme with a lot of the same players, especially at the pivotal spots. They’re into what they do. There’s no reason for them to change.” “They don’t have to trick too many people. They’re very sound at what they do, and they’re very good at what they do. They make you line up and play.” “It’s similar to how we were in 2019. Everybody knew what we were doing, but we were really good at it, we had really good players doing it, and we did it over and over again.” “That’s the best way to build a defense. You don’t have to get lucky with calls or put guys in risky positions.”

One reason teachers are driven out of the profession is the unrealistic, and sometimes fanciful, expectations pushed by educational “experts.” It’s easy to promote beautiful theories about students, instruction, and classroom management when you don’t have to actually put those theories to practice every day. The reality is that many teachers are doing an incredible job given the circumstances they’ve been handed.
