One of my classmates finished university with a first-class degree in computer Science r. Brilliant guy. At just 28, he was already building a career in video editing and Data Analysis . He was doing so well for himself.
He had no interest in going for NYSC.
He was worried about the stress and the security situation in the country, so he wanted to get an exemption letter and focus on building his career.
But his mother insisted.
She believed NYSC would give him an advantage over other graduates, improve his chances of getting a better job, and open doors to opportunities he might otherwise miss.
He resisted for a while, but eventually gave in to the pressure. He applied, received his posting letter, and was posted to a state in the North.
His mother was excited she prayed and fasted before he left .
Sadly, on his way to his place of service, his vehicle was ambushed. He was kidnapped along side others
Ransom was reportedly paid, but till today, nobody knows his whereabouts.
Today makes it one year 💔
