There's very little that hasn't been said about the passing of a great man who's taken us on lovely journeys we could never dream of otherwise. So I'll say godspeed and we hope to meet you once again on a different adventure, Sir Patrick Stewart.

Patrick Stewart has passed away. He was a good man and one of the greatest actors of our time. While this news is painful its also perfect timing to remember such an incredible life lived. Im glad I got to live at the same time as him and to be inspired by his legendary career 🖤

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties. This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors. Corporate consolidation means higher prices, harsher exploitation, and greater economic inequality for New Yorkers. We’ve stood up to these giants before. That doesn’t stop now.

The EA buyout was financed with $20 billion extra company debt. You're going to see the most dogshit slop imaginable come out from EA, which is really saying something considering this is EA we're talking about.
After more EA layoffs last week, a new report cites workers at the company complaining of "terrible" morale and "heavily pushed" generative AI like Claude. One called EA "a cold dead place that's slowly decaying as leadership pilfers every last cent." destructoid.com/ea-workers-c…

Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world. During his 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, he was the voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck among countless other characters. He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc. Eric said that carrying on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes was among the greatest honors of his life. In addition to his incredible talent, Eric was a treasured part of our animation family. Our hearts go out to his loved ones. -Channing Dungey (Chairman, Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks) and Bill Damaschke (President & Chief Creative Officer, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation)

"Dear Mr. Gabe I’m-too-busy-on-a-boat to write or call my fans, This’ll be the last vibe coded update I ever send your ass"
There is a real economic cost to Valve’s foray into forced political disclosures. Besides taking 30%, they’re also taking a potentially even larger fraction of developers’ revenue and livelihood by undermining their business with these AI hate campaigns.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Steam requires disclosure of generative AI for player-consumed content via its standard Content Survey (alongside ratings), shown on store pages for transparency, not as political statements. Steam's base 30% revenue share matches major console platforms. partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettingsta… eurogamer.net/steam-revises-…

If you’re proud to use AI then why hide it Tim?

Forcing developers to write a political statement to be used against them by the hate mob they’re helping organize is abhorrent.

Isn't it weird, Tim, how you didn't have to convince anyone that Unreal Engine or Fortnite was the way of the future, the haters couldn't keep it down, and you made a lot of money, BUT you keep pissing and crying all over yourself about AI? YOU are the biggest point against it
This is exactly what's happening.

I love how he calls it a "hate mob". Tim, they just don't want to buy what you're selling. And it's reasonable to tell them how the sausage is made.

Bioware has been a massive part of CDPR history. We befriended them when localizing and selling Baldur’s Gate games in Poland, Czech, and Slovakia. And later they were great help when lending us their engine for Witcher 1, sharing their wisdom and even giving us a spot at their booth at E3. I had a pleasure to visit them a few times in Edmonton and also host them in our Warsaw office. Very sad for the people affected, but also sad to see a legendary brand go down. Not a great day in the games industry.

I reject the premise that Tim Sweeney is Gabe Newell's Wario since Wario is at least a likeable character.
