I have to say, some of the Liv players coming back to play DP is actually cool as some really good players, but hilarious how some of them slammed the tour for so long, not one good thing to say about it, now it’s the best thing since sliced bread and feels like coming home 🤔
Excellent piece from @JackPittBrooke
(But I thought you were a spurs fan. Two clubs absolutely bludgeoning you! 😂)

This take/article is so ridiculous. It wasn’t a practice round at Adare per se, it was a meet up mainly for those on the fringes of the squad so they can get some experience and logistics made it worthwhile after the Irish Open. If you’re rolling your eyes, you have the problem
I saw Ryder Cup Europe was practicing at Adare Manor earlier this week, a full 52 weeks before the Ryder Cup. This is smart because it's a little performative, and now Jim Furyk will have to answer questions about if and when his team is going to get over there.
As a U.S. fan, it's also a little eye-rolly. Like, we get it. You guys are obsessed with the Ryder Cup. You do all the little things well. It sometimes feels like Ryder Cup Europe is like, "Yeah, but watch this one. See what we do next."
Europe does a lot of things -- bedsheets and shampoo come to mind -- that are praiseworthy specifically because they win. But once they start losing (which, may never happen!) they just become kind of silly and maybe even a little bit dumb.
Great article Joel
American team golf continues to not get it golfdigest.com/story/solheim…
Superb piece of writing
Defeat presents a lesson for future victory, provided the loser is humble enough to receive it.
Unfortunately for American golf leadership, that gift keeps being refused.

I didn't get to follow much of the Solheim Cup because of a busy weekend, but I am enjoying the hell out of catching up today. Americans over-celebrated on Saturday night WITH BOOZE with the score...8-8? U.S. captain throwing analytics and other super under the bus? And somehow, after 50 years of case studies, doesn't know to load the boat in singles? Plus, a rendition of my favorite post-Cup American song, "they just putted better"?? Pump it all straight into my veins.
If you’re comparing the golf course in July in the middle of one of the hottest spells Europe has ever seen to what it’s like in September after cooler temperatures and buckets of rain, then frankly you’re an absolute idiot who shouldn’t have been picked as captain.
"I mean, we’re in Europe and in September." 😳

The higher the prices go - even for players who are not really any better than decent - the more toxic our relationship with those players will be. It is also much less enjoyable. We’re cheering spreadsheets.
Get on it.
Real Madrid are conscious that several teams in the Premier League — the league with the most money — have positions to fill, and they have not entirely ruled out a last-minute exit.
In this regard, there are some players who are untouchable, but there are also cases where the club would be open to offers, such as midfielder Eduardo Camavinga or centre-back Raul Asencio.

🔗 FYI: My information regarding the exact fee for Bradley Barcola differs slightly from what certain outlets have been briefed to publish, and if there are doubts over the figures, it is worth remembering who first mentioned the numbers around which an agreement has now been reached, and which journalists were still circulating very different, fairytale valuations only weeks before the agreement was struck.
Firstly, it is worth mentioning that the fees now being circulated are not far from what I have consistently reported, however there is one important distinction in the structure of the agreement, one which was also among the reasons why negotiations took so long, with a secondary tranche of performance-related add-ons carrying an extremely low probability of ever being triggered included largely for presentational purposes on PSG’s side, as the Paris leadership, led by president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting advisor Luís Campos, were determined for Barcola’s transfer to be portrayed publicly at a valuation no lower than the fee associated with Yan Diomande, a player they had previously missed out on.
The actual structure of the transaction remains exactly as previously reported and I stand by it, €100m (£86m) guaranteed, €20m (£17m) in very easily achievable add-ons which are expected to be triggered even during Barcola’s first season, plus a further layer of highly unrealistic performance-related bonuses worth approximately €15m (£13m), meaning that in practical terms the transaction is expected to reach €120m (£103m), while anything beyond that depends on deliberately difficult and highly improbable conditions which, in practical terms, are not going to be met.
Remember when Zidane said the most important player at Real Madrid during the first galactico era was Makele? Because he gave the platform for the “stars” to perform?
Yeah, that.
The only reason to have a tie up with YouTube brand is because of eyeballs. Good Good effectively tanking in that respect and so really the Callaway decision was the obvious open goal one they could and did make.
Stop mixing currencies. It’s totally misleading and unnecessary

🟥 Liverpool knew they had a midfield problem when they chased Tchouameni, Caicedo and Zubimendi. They’ve known for a while. Yesterday at Newcastle simply underlined that it still hasn’t been solved.
If Richard Hughes is serious about fixing it before the window shuts, these are three names I’d be looking at:
🇸🇳 Lamine Camara
🇪🇸 Chema Andres
🇪🇸 Mikel Jauregizar
All three bring the legs, aggression, defensive awareness and ball-winning ability this Liverpool midfield is crying out for.
I’ve broken down why each one could fit Andoni Iraola’s double pivot, and why this is a problem Liverpool can no longer afford to leave unresolved.
