The romantic in me likes the idea of Carrick being given the chance to turn things around, but the cynic in me suspects it’s only because United’s preferred candidate to take over isn’t available/ready. Likely scenario is everyone limps on til Nov international break. #mufc

Curious why Poch's name isn't being mentioned around the United job. Empowers players. Great at developing younger talent. Great at getting players fit. Press-first approach. School of Bielsa and bit Iraola in how he likes his team's to attack. US job showed his ability to bait + accelerate in current tactical meta. PL proven. He'd be my pick if Carrick were to go.

Finished 15th and had less than a 30% win rate yet people say mad stuff like this.

The more I look at Manchester United’s current state, the more I think about Ruben Amorim. I genuinely believe he was the man meant to take us back to the top. He understood the problems, challenged the culture and wasn’t afraid to make unpopular decisions. He wasn’t perfect, but he had a vision. We gave up on him far too soon, and I fear we’ll regret that decision for years to come.

Great reaction. Carrick tried his best, some of these players haven’t. #mufc

🚨 | #mufc's players looked as if they were in SHOCK as Old Trafford booed them off the pitch. They were STUNNED. [@ZaidBalll]

Carrick deserves the sack but these players have seriously downed tools for him, which is a disgrace in itself. Many of the same group did the same for Solskjaer and Ten Hag. #mufc

Milan are above Como in Serie A. Bournemouth just hammered Milan. Como hammered Manchester United. #mufc

Sam Curran is England cricket’s version of Mason Mount. Been around for ages, endless opportunities, everyone assumes one day he will be good. Zero evidence that he is.

How are we back here again? We've seen how this film usually ends. On the pitch it was dire in Como. Off it? Ed and Dominic try to make sense of it all. @DomBooth19 Links in comments

The Jamestown Massacre.

Jamestown Analytics advised Grimsby Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Como 1907. All three clubs have beaten Manchester United in cup competitions in the last 14 months. Is spending smart matter than spending big?
