Having recently finished the book East of Eden by John Steinbeck, I watched the Netflix series. The performances, the sets, locations are all on point. My favourite characters are Lee and Sam Hamilton, the heart of both the book and series. Absolutely Stunning. #eastofeden

Having read the book by Kazuo Ishiguro a couple of years go, I saw the film Klara and the Sun at the cinema today. Really was a brilliant film and stayed true to the book. Really enjoyed it. #klaraandthesun

The person you will be in 5 years depends largely on: 1. The books you read 2. The food you eat 3. The habits you cultivate 4. The people you surround yourself with 5. The conversations you engage in 6. The mindset you adopt 7. The risks you take and lessons you learn

Glencoe, the A82, THE most famous & dramatic scenic drive in Scotland Also, spot the Kingshouse Hotel and finally the majestic Buachialle Etive Mor - my favourite hill in Scotland. Scotland is just so mesmerisingly stunning and beautiful. #Glencoe #Scotland #BuachialleEtiveMor

The line comes from John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel East of Eden. It’s a deceptively simple sentence, and one I admittedly glossed over when I first read the book. Only later did I really understand what Steinbeck was getting at. The pursuit of perfection can be paralyzing because perfection is impossible. Once that burden is removed, though, we are free to simply try to be good. That idea fits closely with one of East of Eden’s central themes: “timshel,” the belief that human beings have the ability to choose what kind of person they become. Steinbeck makes goodness feel ordinary and attainable. You do not have to be flawless or heroic. Kindness, generosity, compassion, and making the better choice when you can are enough. In simpler terms: perfection is the enemy of good.

The best thing I've read on this app today 😁😁😁
Being in your 50s is honestly hilarious. 😂 One friend is a grandma, another still has a 10-year-old at home. One is celebrating 25 years of marriage, while another is dating someone who’s 25. One looks like they haven’t aged since 35, and another threw their back out just by sneezing. Some are planning retirement, others are starting over after divorce. Some are becoming empty nesters, while others are still attending school meetings and making lunches. Some are booking cruises, others are discovering dating apps for the first time. Half of us are saying, “Life is just getting started!” while the other half need three business days to recover from sleeping in the wrong position. We’re all the same age, yet somehow living completely different lives. 😂 Nobody warned us that our 50s would look this chaotic, unpredictable, and entertaining. Honestly, we deserve a group discount on therapy, multivitamins, and heating pads. 😭
