#Domains are the world's most valuable digital assets and I have been exploring them since 2019. 📝🪩 ICANN approved tlds like .com / .org / .io and more.

In a LinkedIn post today, @JayHoovy, the Founder of @stanforcreators, announced his company acquired the Stan.com domain name for $750,000. The domain name had been owned by the company previously known as Anything.com. domaininvesting.com/stan-com…

We dropped $500k on a new domain. The initial asking price was $1M. After six months of on-and-off negotiation, we brought it down to half, so we basically saved a Lambo! For context, it's around 1/62 of what we've raised in total so far. Announcing it soon.

Of the 30 .ai domain name transactions disclosed by Spaceship last week, 60% have been online. Normally, 30-40% of sold domains get developed. This batch? 18 out of 30 are already deployed——Not parked. Not flipped. Built. The .ai market isn't speculative — it's end-user driven. When a $100K domain becomes a working product in weeks, you know the buyer had a real plan before they paid.

Food.ai sold for $55,500 in early 2025. I bought Snack.ai While food.ai tells you exactly what it is. Snack.ai could be anything: Entertainment. Consumer apps. Anything built around something quick, enjoyable and easy to consume. Just a beautiful word with a positive association. Do you prefer more empty vessels that could be anything or more strict like it tells you what it is?

SOLD Exe.app for $35,000 USD @Sedo Congrats to the buyer! .APP continues to command strong market demand. In 2026, .APP has become the most popular alternative to .COM among companies and projects launching on Product Hunt – overtaking 2025's No. 2, .AI, and now outpacing it by 41.3% across 30 recent daily reports from @LeanneMac. In other .APP news, we're pleased to announce that we've acquired Lottery.app, Turbo.app, and Asset.app. Lottery.app is the standout acquisition. “Lottery” is generic. Lottery.app gives it the punch to become a brand – and here .APP does it better than any other TLD. That distinction positions Lottery.app as a rare, highly valuable asset. Turbo.app is another strong example of .APP at its best, while domains like Asset.app gain extra value through their alliterative character. But most importantly, Exe.app is a fantastic 3-letter .APP domain – and once again, congrats to the buyer on a great acquisition.

When we were negotiating our 5 letter .com, a16z told us we should be willing to spend up to $200k. Seemed high to me but they encouraged us to think long term. Luckily we got it for $20k and were later able to sell it for much more when we shut down the company.
A recent YC startup spent 250k on a domain. I was slightly shocked. But when I asked how much they raised after YC, the answer was 6.5m. So 1/26 of their round. This is the time we live in; one shocking number counterbalances the other.
