Siarhei Tsikhanouski was sentenced to 18 years in prison, Artsiom Sakau & Dzmitry Papou to 16, Ihar Losik & Uladzimir Tsyhanovich to 15, Mikalai Statkevich to 14. The very existence of these people is a crime for the regime. They're repressed for the wish to live in free Belarus.

The forced landing of Ryanair flight #FR4978 by Belarus is unacceptable. Tomorrow’s European Council must give a clear & unequivocal message. Roman Protasevich must be immediately released. We have to consider sanctions, including banning Belavia from landing in EU airports.

ICAO is strongly concerned by the apparent forced landing of a Ryanair flight and its passengers, which could be in contravention of the Chicago Convention. We look forward to more information being officially confirmed by the countries and operators concerned.

It is utterly unacceptable to force @Ryanair flight from Athens to Vilnius to land in Minsk. ALL passengers must be able to continue their travel to Vilnius immediately and their safety ensured. Any violation of international air transport rules must bear consequences.

If true that #Belarus engineered fake bomb threat on @Ryanair flight in order to arrest regime opponent, every European airline should suspend flights to #Belarus, and every European country should deny @Belavia_by Airlines landing and overflight rights until he is set free.

The regime forced the landing @Ryanair plane in Minsk to arrest journalist and activist Raman Pratasevich. He faces the death penalty in Belarus. We demand immediate release of Raman, @ICAO investigation, and sanctions against Belarus.
