For people with disabilities, employment opportunities remain unnecessarily difficult when accessibility and inclusion are treated as exceptions rather than expectations. This #NDEAM, read the latest Perspectives On Disabilities here: bit.ly/3VLtgAc

The Heritage Foundation adviser who recruited 12 bishops to pray over Trump in the Oval Office claimed a Ph.D. from an Italian university that doesn’t grant doctorates. His listed bachelor’s school is a high school. A Vatican official called the meeting an insult to Pope Leo XIV. thelettersfromleo.com/p/heri…

Donald, Obama gives one speech in Detroit and you respond with a doctoral dissertation in capital letters. Unfortunately, the footnotes are missing. Abdul El-Sayed has an MD from Columbia and a doctorate from Oxford. He’s not licensed to treat patients, but that doesn’t make his degrees imaginary. Independent reporting found no evidence he’s affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and he’s explicitly disavowed it. And the “worst clinic in America”? Which clinic, Donald? Name it. You had all those words to explain why Mike Rogers would improve healthcare, wages, or housing for Michigan families. Instead you gave them religious smears, unsupported allegations, and a nostalgia tour of 2016. Obama really can get under your skin with a microphone and a plane ticket.

Raised Catholic, I was taught abortion was wrong in all circumstances. I became a single-issue voter. Years later my first pregnancy ended tragically. At 12 weeks there was no heartbeat. They scheduled a D&C. I was sobbing so hard during the procedure that they stopped and brought my husband in to calm me before trying again. That’s the same procedure used for abortion. Since Roe fell, women in many states have been denied or delayed that care while doctors fear prosecution. Abortion saved my life. It allowed me to go on and have three successful pregnancies. I would never take life-saving care from a woman and her doctor. But if a woman’s faith precludes her from this, I respect her decision. That’s her choice for herself. Changing your mind isn’t weakness. It’s strength. #Catholic #choice #Roe

I am following with concern the grave humanitarian situation in Yemen, particularly in the city of Taiz, where the population is suffering from a lack of food, water and medical care. I make a heartfelt appeal for hostilities to cease and for the Yemeni people and all the peoples of the region to be guaranteed the right to live in peace.

We welcome the appeal of His Holiness for an end to hostilities, and for the people of Yemen and the whole region to live in peace. Oman remains committed to supporting dialogue, de-escalation, and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to all Yemenis.

Let us continue to pray together for peace. The day after tomorrow, on 27 October, let us join in spirit with the heads of churches and religious leaders who will gather in Assisi to mark the 40th anniversary of the meeting convened by Saint John Paul II. Never before has it been so clear that wars, as well as sowing death and destruction, impoverish and harm the world. May the Lord inspire choices of dialogue and peace! #PrayTogether

Did you know every voting location in California is required to have curbside voting? Curbside voting allows you to vote outside of the voting location, without having to go inside. Election workers bring your ballot outside to you. If a paper ballot is not accessible to you or you would prefer to vote on an accessible voting machine (also called a ballot-marking device), you can ask the election workers if they can bring a voting machine to the curbside voting area. Some but not all counties are able to do this. If you want to use curbside voting, look for signs at your voting location, which should show you where to park and tell you how to contact someone for help. If you have questions or are having difficulty voting because of a disability, DRC’s voting hotline is open year-round on weekdays during business hours (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) (and longer hours on Election Day). Call us at (888) 569-7955. We will continue to share voting resources on DRC social media as Election Day gets closer! #DisabilityRightsCA #CurbsideVoting #ElectionDay #MidtermElection #VotingResource . . Image Description: Text: Curbside voting is an option! Blue/green DRC logo below. Filtered photo below of an outside area with several cars lines up along several cones. Left is a button on a pole with a sign: Ring Bell for Voting Assistance. Toque para obtener ayuda. There is a disability wheelchair symbol above on the sign and below on the button. Right is another sign held on a cone with disability wheelchair symbols and text: Curbside Voting.

Today, I asked the Supreme Court to affirm that federal courts have the power to hear my case. The government knows all too well that its baseless allegations and smears against me cannot survive the slightest scrutiny in federal court. That’s why it is doing everything it can to keep those courts from looking at my case and to channel it into its kangaroo immigration courts. So the question is simple: can the government weaponize immigration laws to punish someone's speech, then tell federal courts they have no power to step in? If the answer is yes, none of our speech is safe. If the Trump administration can punish someone for pro-Palestine speech, this or any future administration can punish anyone for any speech.
