Buc-ee's is taking a small Ohio convenience store to court over one thing: its smiling cartoon beaver. The Texas-based chain is suing Beaver's Mini Mart in Beavercreek, arguing the store's beaver logo and red color scheme are too similar to Buc-ee's iconic mascot and could confuse customers. Buc-ee's says it's protecting a trademark it has used for more than 40 years. But the mini-mart's owner says he's been running the family business for more than a decade — years before Buc-ee's expanded into Ohio — and notes that beavers are a common mascot throughout the Beavercreek community. "I don't know why they would sue a small business like mine," owner Vik Boparai said. "I have two kids and this store is how I feed them."
