So it turns out US intelligence has no idea where Iran has relocated it's Highly Enriched Uranium, centrifuges and nuclear bomb making materials. They are likely dispersed in two to three dozen underground missile and nuclear production facilities. Now, they are offering rewards for anyone who knows where they disappeared to. What is the point of bombing Iran's nuclear facilities when we don't even know if any nuclear materials are located there and they remain impervious to conventional military strikes? Trump has said he wants to destroy Pickaxe Mountain but that facility is not even operational yet and likely does not have any nuclear material so even if he could destroy it, that would have no material effect on Iran's nuclear weapons program. This reminds me of Bush's Iraq War WMD fishing expedition when he said we had to invade Iraq to see if they had any chemical weapons only to find out they didn't. In this case, we know Iran has a robust nuclear weapons program but there is no way we can locate and destroy them all without a full US invasion and occupation of Iran like we did with Iraq in 2003. Even a US nuclear first strike might be insufficient. The problem is that we would have to invade Iran with the entire US Army including active-duty, reserve and National Guard troops and we could only do that if we drafted another million troops to defend the US homeland. Plus, Iran has a million troops to defend their country which has 95 million people, 14.5 million militia forces and is full of mountainous terrain which would likely lead to a couple hundred thousands of dead and wounded US soldiers. The crazy thing is Iran offered to eliminate all of our Highly Enriched Uranium and suspend their nuclear program the day before Trump started the war just like they did under the JCPOA but he foolish rejected their generous offer. So basically, Trump destroyed the GOP majority for a generation, depleted 50 to 80 percent of our long-range precision strike munitions leaving us unable to fight and win another major war and is on the verge of starting another great recession for nothing. Furthermore, Iran's leaders are not suicidal. They know that if they used even one nuke against us we would annihilate their country. It turns out nuclear deterrence works with every US adversary including the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation, Communist China and North Korea. Russia, China and NK have over 20,000 nukes yet strangely Trump says he is friends with Putin, Xi and Kim Jong Un and views their nukes as constituting no threat to us. So what makes Iran any different? The answer is that it is an enemy to Israel.
