We are delighted to be piloting our new maternity family bays, where we are able to welcome 1 supportive partner to stay overnight, after you have had your baby. We have worked closely with @royalberksmnvp to introduce the new family bays following feedback from service users.

We’re extremely pleased to share that our maternity services at Royal Berkshire Hospital have continued to be rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection in November 2023.

Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan.

Another fantastic thread highlighting the key issue at hand
Doctors’ pay has been slashed, brutally, by ~26% in real terms over the past 15 years.
This has not happened to other workers.
All we want is to restore what we’ve lost, and I would support anyone else to do the same

Today junior doctors and consultants rallied on the doorstep of the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester to show the government that we will not be silenced.
Thank you to everyone who came along. Together we will continue, stronger than ever, towards full pay restoration.

"Are you prepared to sit down with the BMA?”
“Of course we are, we’ve tried multiple times”
@RishiSunak falsely claiming to have tried to negotiate with us when in reality we've now asked in 10 separate letters to meet with Govt to discuss pay and every request has been rebuffed.
So glad @NVHooydonck is alive and well. Sad end to his career but health comes first.

Let’s be clear
@SteveBarclay has offered @BMA_Consultants a crappy real terms pay cut
@RishiSunak says if they won’t accept it he will just impose it on them anyway & wants to strip them of their right to strike
ABSOLUTE BOLL**** TO THAT!
I’m standing with our consultants
Caught some of "Surgeons: A matter of life or death" on channel 5. Normally find these programmes a bit silly but I am in awe of these skilled teams! Cue massive imposter syndrome thoughts about proper consultant surgeons 🙈 #surgery @channel5_tv

1/ Short 🧵 on lies, damned lies, & statistics
I've seen some rather misleading use of statistics on the BBC / Sky today, its not clear whether they dont understand the differences, or they are trying to mislead

Pride and dismay.
Pride that consultants have come together, like the junior doctors did, to defend and rebuild our terms and conditions.
Dismay that the government has forced us to the point of striking by their refusal to negotiate or even to recognise the problem properly.
