Five days ago, Quenton Nelson was asked if he wants to continue his career with the #Colts:
“Yeah, I Iove it here. Met my wife here. Really appreciate and love this organization. It’s been a long career here. And made a lot of friendships …”
But this is a business, after all.

His return was no guarantee.

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.
But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

John’s a good dude who went out of his way to connect with fans. He was gracious to a lot of us, and I think more of you would have a positive opinion of him had you truly ever given him a chance.
That isn’t an analysis of his broadcasting - which I always found fine/improving - but an appreciation of a dude who inherited a tough spot.
Curious and excited to see who the Sox look for next.
White Sox broadcaster John Schriffen will not return in 2027.
