New piece out today by RPAN member @DrGemmaBriggs
My piece in The Conversation today explores biases related to driving and road harms. These biases impact individual behaviour, but also policy decisions and public attitude to the inevitability of road death.

Good to close a loophole in legislation, but if we frame the issue of phone-use by drivers in safety terms, rather than purely legal terms, we should be banning all phone use. Shifting people to hands-free won't reduce road risk. Death caused by legal distraction is still death.

Brilliant, clear and easy to understand assessment of why the old mobile phone laws are rubbish and the new ones will make little difference.
Replying to @SgtTCS
Funny you should say that, as @roadspolicing and I have just written something about this!
