Islamic Conquest of Kosovo Before the Islamic Conquest: Kosovo was a very important cultural and political heartland of the Serbian state. The majority of Kosovo was Serbian, with a small Albanian minority, in the 14th century. Conquest: In 1389, the Ottoman Empire attacked Kosovo. (Battle of Kosovo) The Ottoman Sultan Murad I was killed on the battlefield by the Serbian knight Milos Obilic. The Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović was captured and executed. Officially, neither side won the battle. Serbia became an Ottoman vassal. An initial Turkish base was established in northern Kosovo that same year. In 1423, an Ottoman court was established in Pristina, (Kosovo) The Second Battle of Kosovo took place in 1448. The Ottoman Empire won the battle against a Hungarian-led coalition. The Ottoman Empire ruled Kosovo from 1459 until 1912 Islamization of Kosovo The Ottoman Empire settled Albanians in Kosovo. In 1690, many Serbs left Kosovo and headed northward into Habsburg lands to escape Ottoman rule. From 1455 to 1856, non-Muslims were required to pay the jizya. Initially, Albanians were predominantly Catholic and Orthodox Christians. Over the centuries, Albanians converted to Islam. By the end of the 19th century, Kosovo had become majority Muslim. Serbian attempts to regain Kosovo In 1918, Kosovo became part of the newly formed Kingdom of Yugoslavia or Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes. Since the demographics had changed during the Ottoman period, Serbia attempted to correct this. They settled several thousand Serbs in Kosovo and deported some Albanians from Kosovo. The project ended when Kosovo was occupied by Fascist Italy. After the 2nd World War , Tito forbade Serbs from returning to Kosovo. In 1989, Slobodan Milosevic stripped Kosovo of the autonomy that Tito had granted it in 1974. He positions himself as a defender of the Serbs in Kosovo. In 1996 The group name UCK (Kosovo Liberation Army) claimed responsibility for attacks on Serbian police and government targets. Milosevic responded with a crackdown on militants or supporters of the KLA. In February 1998, the Kosovo War began a conflict between the Serbian military and police and the KLA. On March 24, 1999, NATO launched a 78-day war against Serbia. On June 10, 1999, Milosevic accepted a UN-backed peace agreement; Serbien (Yugoslav ) forces begin withdrawing from Kosovo On October 5, 2000, Milosevic was toppled by a coalition consisting of leftists, pro-EU Serbs, nationalists, & monarchists. He refused to accept the election defeat. In 2008, Kosovo was declared independent. Not all countries have recognized Kosovo, including Serbia, Russia, China, Greece, and Spain. Today, 93% of Kosovo is Muslim. 7% of the population in Kosovo are Christians; most of them are Serbian Orthodox or Catholic Albanians.
Islamic Conquest of Bosnia Bosnia before the Islamic Conquest Bosnians belonged neither to the Catholic Church nor to Orthodox Christianity. They belonged to the religion known as the "Bosnian Church." They were labeled as heretics by the Vatican. The Vatican and the King of Hungary waged war against this church between the 13th and 15th centuries. The Conquest: In 1386, the first Ottoman raid against Bosnia took place. In 1451 The Ottoman Empire formally establishes the Bosnian Frontier a military-administrative borderland unit in parts of the region. In 1461, the Bosnian King Tomasevic ceased tribute payments to the Ottoman Empire. Bosnia asked the Vatican for help. However, the Vatican provided only diplomatic support to Bosnia, and no military support. In 1463, Bosnia was conquered by the Ottoman Empire. The last king of the Kingdom of Bosnia was executed by the Ottomans. In 1482, Herzegovina was occupied by the Ottoman Empire. In the 15th century, The Bosnian Church officially ceased to exist. Its members converted to the Catholic, Orthodox, or Muslim faith. In 1580, Bosnia became an Ottoman province (Bosnia Eyalet). Islamization of Bosnia Non Muslims had to pay the jizya. The Bosnian elite the landowners converted to Islam in order to retain their property. The Ottoman Empire forced Christian children to join the Ottoman army. The Ottoman Empire founded the present-day capital, Sarajevo. Islam spread much faster in cities and towns than in remote rural areas From the 17th century onwards, Bosnia became predominantly Muslim. Bosnian Muslims became deeply integrated into the Ottoman state. They were soldiers, generals, and even governors. Bosnian soldiers also fought abroad, for instance in the wars against the Persian Empire. Bosnian Muslim soldiers were used by the Ottoman Empire to suppress Serbian or Croatian uprisings. Not all Bosnian Muslims were loyal to the Ottoman Empire. Bosnian Muslim leaders also staged major rebellions against the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. Influence on the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s Tito suppressed the Bosniak identity & legally denied recognition as an official nationality. Serbian and Croatian nationalists do not recognize Bosnians as a distinct people. Croatian nationalists view them as Croatian Muslims, while Serbian nationalists view them as Serbian Muslims. Croatian & Serbian nationalists view Bosnian Muslims as traitors who abandoned their faith in order to avoid paying taxes. The Bosnian Serb general refers to Bosnian Muslims as Turks. In his eyes, the Bosnian War was an act of revenge.

🚨 JORDAN FOILS INFILTRATION ATTEMPT ON SYRIAN BORDER Jordanian forces arrested four individuals attempting to cross the northern border illegally on Sunday. The incident raises serious concerns jihadist infiltration coming from areas under the control of the Syrian terrorist regime into Jordan and the threat extremist networks pose to regional security.

🚨 BREAKING | 🇮🇷🇮🇱🇸🇾 #IRAN-LINKED MILITIA ISSUES DIRECT THREAT TO #ISRAEL FROM SOUTHERN SYRIA. The terrorist group known as “ULI AL-BAAS,” an Iran-linked formation operating in #Daraa and associated with the broader Axis of Resistance, has released a threatening video message directed at Israel 🇮🇱, delivered in Hebrew. The group is linked to Iran’s IRGC network and displays ideological and symbolic affiliations with Hezbollah and Hamas.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE | Exposing The Terrorist Militias and Smuggling Networks Operating Under Al-Julani’s #Syria. 🇸🇾 Southern Syria has become a hub for extremist militias, Iranian-backed networks, and cross-border drug and weapons trafficking. Across #Daraa, the Yarmouk Basin, and Quneitra, armed factions operate within a security landscape shaped by Al-Julani’s regime, threatening the security of 🇯🇴 #Jordan and 🇮🇱 #Israel. Following Jordan’s military operation, “Jordanian Deterrence – Hamoud,” in response to the terrorist attack targeting Christians in Karak, Jordan, these networks deserve the world’s attention. 👇🏻 Here are the key extremist groups operating across the region: 🔴 ISIS-LINKED MILITIAS AFFILIATED WITH AL-JULANI’S REGIME Militias linked to ISIS operate across Daraa, the Yarmouk Basin, and Quneitra, under the official affiliation of Al-Julani’s forces. Multiple videos show masked members of the transitional authorities wearing military uniforms bearing ISIS insignia and issuing threats against Israel. In July 2025, hundreds of members of these militias participated in the assault on #Druze civilians in #Sweida and committed atrocities against them. These militias remain active, while their networks are involved in drug smuggling toward Jordan. 🔴 THE ULI AL-BAAS BRIGADES (UAB) An Islamist militant group that emerged following the fall of the Assad regime, previously operating under the name “Golan Liberation Front.” On January 13, 2025, the group announced the mobilization of light armored vehicles and fighters toward Quneitra, Sweida, Daraa, Damascus, and the surrounding countryside. Four days later, on January 17, it formally announced the beginning of military operations against the Israeli presence in southern Syria. The group is linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Hezbollah. On February 19, it announced that two of its commanders, Muhannad al-Baqari and Mohammad Mansour, had been killed by Israeli forces in Quneitra. 🔴 THE ISLAMIC GROUP — THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD’S LEBANESE BRANCH The Islamic Group is a Lebanese branch of the Muslim Brotherhood with a record of armed operations against Israel. It operates in coordination with Hamas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israeli military operations in Daraa and Quneitra countryside have targeted members of this organization, resulting in deaths and arrests. The group also works in coordination with individuals close to Iran’s IRGC to smuggle weapons into the West Bank through Jordan. ⚠️ THE NETWORK BEHIND THE CHAOS Al-Julani’s regime covertly supports these radical armed groups, allowing them freedom of movement and operations across Daraa and Quneitra to use them as leverage against Israel. Tribal figures responsible for drug trafficking and weapons smuggling toward the West Bank coordinate with commanders close to Al-Julani’s regime. Among them is Rakan al-Khudair, who wields considerable influence across these areas. ⁉️ The question is clear: Who enables these networks, who protects their operations, and who benefits from the chaos they create across southern Syria? From the July 2025 massacres against Druze civilians in Sweida to the drug and weapons smuggling networks threatening Jordan and Israel, these armed factions are part of a wider security threat that cannot be ignored. The international community must expose these networks, confront those enabling them, and hold those responsible for terrorism, trafficking, and atrocities against civilians accountable.

During the terrorist Damascus regime’s sectarian campaign of genocide against the Druze and Christians in Sweida, two Druze brothers heroically held back an advancing convoy of jihadist militants for hours, buying precious time for the women and children of their village to be evacuated to safety. Both brothers ultimately sacrificed their lives.

Islamic Conquest & Islamization of Israel (638-1948) Israel before the Islamic Conquest: The Byzantine Empire ruled Israel since 324. 70% to 80% were of the Christian faith. 15% were Jews. The rest were Samaritan & pagans. Aramaic and Hebrew were the primary languages spoken in Israel in the 7th century. There was a small Arab population in Israel, primarily in the Negev Desert. The Conquest: In 636 the Rashidun Caliphate besieged Jerusalem for 6 months. Patriarch Sophronius surrendered to the Rashidun Caliphate. In 638 Caliph Umar traveled to Jerusalem in person to accept its surrender. Christians & Jews were permitted to live in Israel, If they paid the jizya. 250K Arabs from the Arabian Peninsula settled in Israel during the Conquest. A small number of Christians and Jews have converted to Islam. Most Arabs, however, have few to no Canaanite roots. The Al-Aqsa Mosque was built between 685 -715. The city of Ramla was built by Muslims. In the 12th century, during the Crusader Era, Israel was 60% Christian. When Saladin occupied Israel, he expelled Western Christians from Israel. Eastern Christians were permitted to live in Israel, If they paid the jizya. Between the 12th and 13th centuries, Israel became predominantly Muslim. Reversal of the Islamization of Israel When Israel won the War of Independence, Jews became the majority. Israel is one of the few countries that have reversed Islamization. 18% of the Israeli population is Muslim today.
