To explain how and when(1993) I started using WASD in games it was Star Control II hypermelee. The first time I used them as FPS controls was Descent II demo late 1995/1996. This was before Quake even came out sorry Thresh.

Karma is a bitch. One of the architects of netzero just maneuvered his country into a no exit cul de sac.
Hold on a second. Canadians have been told, for months, that a key tenet in the Prime Minister's whole trade strategy is "walk away from Washington, pivot to Europe". Now we find out his own officials told him in December 2025 that the pivot runs straight into a wall? The EU's carbon tariff hits Canadian steel, iron and aluminum, the same metals already hit by U.S. tariffs. And even though, with great fanfare, the Prime Minister is forging ahead with some kind of "associate membership" for Canada in the EU, an exemption is "not currently possible." In other words, he sat on that detail for 10 months, until an access to information request forced it out days before he hosts the Canada-EU Summit. So the plan is: turn down the August terms that were agreed then disagreed to in three days with the U.S., tell workers Europe is the answer, and quietly know Europe is putting up its own border charge. According to the @CBCNews report, that charge is close to $900M a year in exposure in Newfoundland and Labrador, $792M in Quebec, and adds up to $150 more per tonne of steel by 2034. And recall that he weakened the carbon price in his Alberta deal while knowing that, with it, he made an EU exemption even harder to get. What kind of diversification is it if you're trading one tariff wall for two and hoping nobody reads the memo?

The EU doesn't want Canada. But the USA does. President Trump is correct. Canada as the 51st State makes the most sense over the long-term. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇲

A 98-year-old man bought his first Tesla Model Y with Full Self-Driving, and his experience is absolutely incredible He started driving in the era of the Ford Model A. After nearly 80 years behind the wheel, he's now experiencing a car that helps handle the driving for him “I don't want to look at every intersection and see is this intersection clear… I don't want any of that and I don't have any of it” “I'm just relaxed at 100% with it” And the most incredible part is his Tesla even stopped for a chipmunk crossing the road “For somebody that's 98 years old, this is a real treat. This is magic” This is why Tesla FSD is so much more than just a technological achievement It's about giving elderly people greater confidence, mobility, and independence, allowing them to continue enjoying the freedom of driving At 98 years old, he's experiencing the future of transportation firsthand Absolutely beautiful

10k Starship launches/year is just from Starbase Louisiana
In a comment to the FAA, SpaceX says it wants to launch 10,000 times per year. The FAA asked for input on where to build new spaceports and how to give rocket launches priority in US airspace. They're preparing for 10,000 launches a year by 2035. SpaceX replied that rockets aren't the bottleneck anymore, the FAA's outdated air traffic processes are. They created their own airspace tool (Cleared) that most major US airlines already get for free. They also noted that Starbase Louisiana is designed for ~30 launches and reentries PER DAY (!!)

Over the past few months, Anthropic scientists have engaged in deep research partnerships with six organizations developing new medicines. We've also begun drug discovery efforts of our own. In doing so, we’ve learned much more about how Claude can support the many stages of drug development. In this blog post, we share some early results from these efforts, and describe how this work fits in with our wider ambitions in the life sciences. anthropic.com/research/early…

Nice! Oculus creator Palmer Luckey’s company Anduril is teaming up with Qualcomm to make ultra rugged computers in America. As much of mobile computing has evolved into fragile art, there’s a huge unmet demand for durable work tools.
BlueChip. Built in America. America made the first electronic computer to win a war. Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation. Today, we bring it home.

In 1807, Joseph Fourier claimed that any temperature profile is a sum of waves. The leading mathematicians of his day objected, and he was only able to publish the full theory in 1822.
