Replying to @JoumannaTV
where we’re at: the world is being held in check by a conflict with unquantifiable vertical economic and geopolitical ramifications, and both sides can be summed up with a Monty Python gif
McAfee and Travis would be curled up in the fetal position weeping in a corner if they spent 2 minutes in @minakimes’ DM’s
Pat McAfee has been ripped as a soft-as-charmin crybaby for his safety concerns at Utah.
But @ClayTravis says he 'understands' where McAfee is coming from.
"I’ve received serious death threats that required armed security at my home,” tweeted Travis.

Can't recall public statement like this ever about a leak investigation in midstream
NEW: On background from a War Department official:
Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.
Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.
Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.

Just a reminder, John F. Kennedy won his first race for Congress by recruiting a janitor with the same name of the incumbent to run for office. This is an old trick, and a dirty trick, but it’s by no means unprecedented.

Ever notice that in Dune humans fly spaceships between planets but don't use a single computer?
That's not a plot hole. It's completely on purpose. The movies barely explain why, but once you know, almost everything else in Dune starts to make sense.
About 10,000 years before Paul Atreides, humans did exactly what we're doing right now. They built thinking machines to make life easier. They let the machines do their work and make their decisions, hoping it would set them free.
Instead, the people who controlled those machines gained the power to enslave everyone else.
Humanity eventually fought back in a holy war called the Butlerian Jihad, and won. The thinking machines were destroyed.
To make sure it would never happen again, they made one rule sacred: "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind."
But getting rid of computers created a problem: who would do their work? The answer was humans.
Mentats are trained from childhood to think like computers. Navigators use the spice to glimpse the future and steer ships safely through space. The Bene Gesserit spend generations pushing the human mind and body to their limits.
Every superpower in Dune exists for one reason: there are no computers.
That's my favorite thing about Dune. It's also the most terrifying. Dune isn't a future without AI. It's the future after AI.
Frank Herbert wrote that in 1965.

I wonder why they fired the campaign manager that thinks you can just Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy your way out of a story you gave to the New York Times
Peltola’s former campaign manager, fired this summer, goes on record to the NYTs to say that the Dems worked to get another Dan Sullivan on the ballot. ...And then subsequently tries to retract her statements.

Wilson played his ass off tonight, but late in the game he saw Brunson, in the same spot where he’d just put Norm Powell on skates, being guarded by Leonard Miller on the perimeter and had an “oh shit!” moment, dropping his man and sprinting to help. Wasn’t fast enough. JB for 3.
“Get the ball to Jalen Brunson!”
@CalebWilson2025 witnessed Brunson’s NBA Finals Game 1 winning shot up close last season! The #4 overall pick faces him for the first time in his career at 8pm/et on NBA League Pass 🙌

see how easy that is?
NEWS: Las Vegas #Raiders owner Mark Davis has taken a strong stance against signing players with histories of domestic violence.
Davis has publicly maintained a ZERO-TOLERANCE approach toward domestic abuse, even if it means passing on talented players.
“We have zero tolerance.”
His stance is deeply personal, stemming from the tragic murder of Raiders legend Fred Biletnikoff’s daughter, Tracey, by her boyfriend in 1999.
Davis has emphasized that domestic violence has no place in the Raiders organization.

"Can I say one thing? RIP Stacey King who we lost recently. A person I knew when I was in high school here. He supported our team…his kids went to Stevenson. Just to see him not here today…My thoughts & prayers are with him & his family. We miss him"
– Jalen Brunson in Chicago
classy shout by jalen brunson, offering condolences to the family of stacey king and to all bulls fan for the loss of a legend.
pretty tremendous bench game from a lot of guys. TK dishing dimes. Landry bombing 3’s. Drum on the boards. and JC doing it all.
and then Jalen came back in, and the game went from trading leads to Knicks by 11 in just a few minutes.
