What? This...? This is the @ec_ancoats chip butty, with proper chips, @pollenbakery potato brioche and beef fat mayo.

Eaten there twice in the last week and it was absolutely superb both times. Straight in my top five for the city.

A few weeks ago, I ate at Edinburgh Castle in Ancoats and it was fantastic. My pics aren’t great but it might be my new favourite restaurant in Manchester. I’m back on Sunday to confirm. The locals love it but it should be better known nationally. They’re @ec_ancoats on here. 😋

Best pub bar menu in the city? Quite possibly. That chip butty... Bravo Shaun Moffat and @ECancoats.

Our first meal @ECancoats today - one of the best Sunday lunches we’ve had in an age! Forgot to snap the menu or the food, which says something! @nicolahaddon

Look at this beauty from @ECancoats, as posted on their Instagram. Cold, roast Tamworth pork belly with a smoked mussel dressing. Shaun Moffat is hitting some serious form up there.

Oh yes @ECancoats! Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire cheese doughnuts, Devonshire eel and the treacle tart please. What a three dish line-up that would be.
