What happened on October 7th? Netanyahuโ€™s government presided over a catastrophic security failure despite repeated warnings including from Israeli intelligence officials and border observers, as well as warnings from the UAE and Egypt. Then, during the attack, the IDF issued the order โ€œnot a single vehicle can return to Gaza,โ€ even though commanders knew those vehicles contained Israelis. The Nova festival was not evacuated despite top Israeli defense officials briefing *the night before* about a possible attack. Netanyahu then invoked October 7 repeatedly in pursuing a much broader regional confrontation, including dragging the US into a war with Iran. Maybe instead of screaming at Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, or Miss Rachel for condemning the atrocities in Gaza, we should be asking some serious questions about what happened that day and why Israel still hasnโ€™t had a full independent State Commission of Inquiry into it. โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿป
