A finger bone uncovered in Saudi Arabia is about 88,000 years old, making it the oldest directly dated fossil of our species found outside Africa or its immediate vicinity in the eastern Mediterranean: scim.ag/2IEMpJ4
This beautiful pendant was found during excavations at Kostenki 17 last summer. It was left behind by a modern human over 40,000 years ago. #EMHEProject #IceAge #culture
This lithic from Kostënki 17 was discarded after being used as a core for small bladelets, which were detached down its edge. Some of these bladelets were then further shaped, probably for use on hunting kit.
