I have a great idea to save the games industry. fire all those overpaid executives. They take up precious office space, and just one of their salaries could save at least 75 skilled developers jobs 😉 And! not paying the most bonuses can save more jobs😉

I think the end game for EA at this point will be Shooters and sports games an that's it.

Lastly, the biggest question Can a studio owned by a traditionally conservative monarchy even make a game like "Mass Effect" a game that directly addresses themes of authoritarianism and allows players to explore non heterosexual, relationships? Could they truly make that game?

The studio was forced out of its wheelhouse by the muckity mucks at the top of EA to not only use an unfamiliar game engine, but to make an online multiplayer game in Anthem, and their main franchises suffered as a result.

They were unable to satisfy their existing audiences or attract new ones. I'd argue BioWare was just a name, a Ship of Theseus with none of what made it great left.

It’s never good when people lose their jobs, but I have to ask: was BioWare even BioWare at this point? All of the studio's founders and most of the people who made your favorite games were all but gone.

I remember how hard it was to spot this Akuma easter egg on the crappy tape we had of Street Fighter 2 the movie and now look there he is clear as day lol I love that Capcom later referenced this in the Street Fighter Alpha promo art @Romudeth @beanyzilla

I mean the flood is already happening and it is affecting creators already. It is not superstar creators but indi creators. clone games that look almost indistinguishable from the original.
Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros. and Kirby, is warning that AI could lead to a flood of unoriginal games. Sakurai points out that Steam has gone from around 275 game releases a year in 2010 to more than 19,000 today “AI can create games, but it can’t create something truly original.” Sakurai also argues that originality means creating something players don’t even know they want yet. He uses Fumito Ueda as an example, saying AI could imitate the style of games like ICO or Shadow of the Colossus, but it wouldn’t know what Ueda himself would create next.

I don’t understand why @Kojima_Hideo has gotten a reputation for slow development. MGSV: 4–5 years (while building a brand new engine from scratch) Death Stranding 1: 3 years Death Stranding 2: ~4.5 years These are normal, reasonable dev timelines for modern games.

It sucks how people hijack a movement and use it as a reason to start looting and cause chaos. What does any of that have to do with high school and university students protesting teacher shortages and school infrastructures? Literally a bunch of vampires taking advantage.
