Miss Eric Uwoon Awaji- Ikatele a 16-year-old student of Community Secondary School, Ikuru Town in Rivers State dreams of becoming a medical doctor.
However, learning had been difficult due to the dilapidated state of her school and the absence of an equipped laboratory.
Today, the learning process has improved thanks to the Ikuru Town Host Community Development Trust incorporated by Green Energy, that renovated and equipped the school.
The Petroleum Industry Act says 3% of the operating expenditure of oil companies from the preceding year must be used for the benefit of host communities.
Through an effective enforcement of the HCDT provision by the NUPRC, over 1000 projects have been initiated in just 4 years, bringing succor back to neglected oil communities and reducing sabotage on oil facilities by 90%.

Exactly a month ago, the NUPRC hosted the 2025 commercial bid conference in Abuja where 31 companies emerged winners of 37 oil and gas blocks. Having issued the winners with the provisional awards, compliance with the payment of signature bonuses has already begun.
Winners who fail to pay signature bonuses within the stipulated time frame in line with the Petroleum Industry Act will forfeit their bid guarantee and lose their provisional awards to the reserve bidders. Reproduced here is the full list of winners and reserve bidders.

Messi having 2 World Cups or Lamine Yamal winning his 1st are both wins. To add insult to injury, Madridstas -Mbappe and Bellingham - who have gone trophyless for 2 seasons are battling for a 3rd place medal.

What a story. Went from less than 50k followers to 18.4 million followers in 3 weeks. The almighty US expedited a visa for his mother so she could attend the World Cup while denying some footballers visas. I have no doubt Cape Verde will witness a further boom in tourism after this World Cup. That’s how you put your country on the world map. Congrats to Messi.
Truly the world has gone soft. I remember back in 1994 when Bebeto scored against Netherlands and he dedicated the goal to his new born baby whom he had not been fortunate to see because he was in USA playing for Brazil when the child was born. Not only did he create an iconic goal celebration, he went on to win the World Cup and dedicated the trophy to his son. Argentine keeper, Emi Martinez was also not fortunate to witness the birth of his daughter back in 2021 because he was in Brazil for the Copa America. He won and the trophy was dedicated to his baby girl, Ava. But today, a fierce battle is raging online on Jeremy Doku wanting to leave the Belgian squad in order to witness the birth of his child and so many people are supporting his decision despite the fact that Belgium has not won a single game and is on the verge of crashing out of the tournament.
