At this very moment, as I write this post, shells are falling on the eastern areas of Gaza City. The sounds are absolutely terrifying. They have literally gone insane. Aircraft are flying at extremely low altitudes and the situation is incredibly difficult. Talk about what is happening here. Share our voices. Make Gaza the world's headline again.

I'm not up for debating the ethics of the fur industry, but to say that fur doesn't harm animals seems to depend on a definition of "harm" that is a little unusual
as in the use of those products doesn't necessarily harm animals. it only does when it's a wide scale company

I have my bus pass on my phone and it keeps malfunctioning and I have spent so much time trying to fix it and a customer service person just told me to get an iPhone and see if that helped and I am speechless

We usually only focus on LAPD helicopters, but there are over half a dozen law enforcement organizations regularly operating helicopter patrols above LA! This is what they're up to on a given night, colored by department (This was October 2nd 2026)

Gaza City is literally living through its final days, and every passing day makes life here more difficult and unbearable. We are losing what little remains of our resources and capabilities, with no alternatives available. Dozens of essential goods and raw materials are still prohibited from entering. Every basic necessity of life is gradually disappearing from the city. I am not exaggerating; this is the reality we are living. Things you take for granted in your everyday lives, things you barely think twice about, are simply unavailable here. It has reached the point where even lighters are no longer available. Wood, iron, cement, and all other construction materials are prohibited from entering. Bakeries, water stations, and shops are shutting down one after another because of shortages of fuel, oils, and raw materials. Even the agricultural sector has been almost entirely destroyed after approximately 70% of agricultural land was seized. We are not simply facing a shortage of goods. We are gradually losing everything that allows a city to function, survive, and sustain life. What is happening is pushing Gaza City towards complete dependence on external aid, rather than allowing it to produce its own necessities and provide for its people. Write, share, and speak about what is happening. Do not stop amplifying our voices.

Last year I was walking down my street and I saw this guy wearing a bright orange baseball cap, bright orange sneakers and shin guards, and a yellow tutu. It was such a perfect minimalist but instantly recognizable Big Bird. Exquisite. Hope he had a good Halloween.

This argument would be more persuasive if there were any evidence that these privacy and free speech rights extended to any other groups. People are being jailed for miscarriages and fired, expelled from school, and even deported for protesting genocide.
People don't want to admit it, but we owe so much of our privacy and free speech rights to perverts fighting tooth and nail for them. No one swings harder for those rights than freaked out horndogs.

I'm against state censorship. I think it's good to fight it! But if one industry is consistently winning its legal battles for free speech and privacy while everything else backsides, I think you have to relinquish the claim that that industry is uniquely counter-hegemonic

NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions. More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesn’t include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves. In France, the main dockers’ union says the country’s ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety. The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action. In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties. The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying “Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.” I’m reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.
