Had a chance to speak with Eleanor Roosevelt’s new head coach, Chaun Miller who takes over for Brendan O’Connell who decided to step away on his terms after a tremendous coaching career that culminated in four 4A state titles.
Miller played for ER under O’Connell on the varsity for four years, making it to Comcast three times, but never won a state title.
Miller had a tall task in his first game at the helm, as DeMatha gave the Raiders a 40-point lashing. ER is back at it tomorrow as they play PG 4A rival Bladensburg.
Welcome Chaun Miller, whose been getting reps on Capitol Hoops channels for over a decade!

2024 wing Lynn King has transferred to @ERoosRaiders , he tells me. King helped Mt. Zion Prep Academy to the 1st @MDPSSBT 🏆 while taking home MOP honors. Big addition for the Raiders as they prep for a routine Class 4A run.

2023 @ERoosRaiders/@DistrictBC F Tobi Raji has committed to Navy. 6’8 big has a competitive edge that shows in his willingness to rebound out of his area. Efficient finisher around the rim and the tools to be a productive big for years to come.

Went to a HS regional game Friday to see recruits we were targeting. Within a few minutes got excited as well about a player we had never seen from the other team. I know I’m not the only coach who has experienced this. Players. You never know when it’s your time to be seen. 👀

Successful basketball teams do 2 things consistently well -
1. GUARD THE BALL

Kyle Rose appreciation post.
+14 and held one of the nation’s best guards to eight points and only one assist.
There aren’t many defenders in the country tougher than this guy right here!
