I just received a wonderful gift from a dear friend who participated to both #CAVES and #PANGAEA : @KudSverchkov took with him a photo of our beloved instructor Riccardo Pozzobon during his #soaceflight to #ISS .

What an incredible trio we had at #PANGAEA in this 10th anniversary Riccardo Pozzobon edition of the training!
Wouldn’t you love to see them on one of the @NASAArtemis flights? We definitely think they are ready for #geology #forwardtothemoon @esaspaceflight @HumanSpace_JAXA @Astro_Kimiya @Astro_Pablo_ESA Jasmin Moghbeli @NASAJohnson

ALT Three space explorers make their way to the top of an ancient volcano called Caldera Blanca in Lanzarote, one of Europe’s volcanic hot spots. Participants of PANGAEA’s 10th edition are ESA astronaut Pablo Álvarez Fernández, NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli and Kimiya Yui from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA.

The #AxEMU offers more mobility than Apollo-era spacesuits, so astronauts can kneel and work closer to the ground. A suit that can kneel is only useful if the tools in hand are ready for the same work. Apollo tools were sized and shaped for a stiffer suit and a different pattern of heat and cold. That is why Axiom is redesigning the tools and equipment astronauts will need to work and collect samples at the lunar south pole.
