All historical evidences clearly trace the significance role of Amharas in giving birth to AddisAbeba. Now that oromo is on power & trying to change history doesn't diminish the role pioneer amharas play in giving AA the shape it has today ~~~ #Ethiopia #Amhara #AddisAbeba #Shewa

Arsi has become a bloodbath. For years, Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia’s Oromia region have endured horrific massacres and targeted violence by Muslim Oromo extremist groups. #Ethiopia #ArsiMassacre

Over a decade ago, Jawar Mohammed, that #Oromo ethnofascist Little Mussolini, origonally from Arsi, was spewing out hate speech & ethnic incitement to violence, the harbinger of what's happening now in #Ethiopia under the megalomaniac @AbiyAhmedAli & his tribalist OPDO-PP regime.

Glad that you specified the complex religion vs livelihood category in the case of Nigeria.... as per your description "Nigeria's historic Muslim herder-on-Christian farmer violence"..... so may be all along it is livelihood based conflict? In that case let's expose the parallel for Ethiopia, in case of the #ArsiChristianMassacres (that on and off went on for more than 3 decades btw). It is a Muslim-Oromo-on- OrthodoxChristian-Amhara violence.... So all along just because the religious divide neatly falls on top of the ethnic divide....we cannot all of a sudden make it a new religious issue. Even if the killers have a component that believe in radical islamization and targeting and converting of Christians, throughout their history in the region, they have been propped up by the goal of removing Amharas. Their early organization IFLO was an oromo first organization, that added "Islamic" in their name to appeal to the predominantly Muslim Oromo population in South Ethiopia and to get financial and material aid from MENA Nations. tl;dr : it is not a new peoblem, it is a product of the Ethnic Aparthied system you want us to sustain. Even if it is bleeding us constantly 💔
Ethiopia has enough internal problems without adding major religious conflict to the list. Would be awful for country's reputation to have inter-religious fighting compared to Nigeria's historic Muslim herder-on-Christian farmer violence. Stop it! africanews.com/2026/10/27/et…

Drones reportedly launched from Ethiopia are striking Sudan's power and oil facilities with growing precision, using fewer drones each time. In the latest attack, three drones targeted a petroleum pumping station in Haya, Red Sea State. According to Al Hadath's correspondent, an oil pipeline was hit, causing damage and an oil leak. Last night, residents of Gedaref, on the Ethiopian border, also heard drones overhead. Sudanese military sources say the drones that struck five power stations yesterday were also launched from Ethiopia. If the Sudanese army retaliates on Ethiopian soil, the region could be dragged into one of its biggest wars in recent years. That outcome serves the UAE and Israel, which want no stable power left standing in the Horn of Africa.

#Ethiopia

Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. Just last Friday, three gunman opened fire at a funeral service at St. George’s Green Orthodox Church in Jordan, where 3 were killed and 34 were injured. Last Saturday, there were a series of attacks on our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia, where more than 60 have been killed. The scale of the discrimination and persecution of our faith is astonishing. In fact, in some countries, to profess our faith openly and publicly can be deadly. More than 388 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution, and more than 315 million suffer extreme levels of persecution. Christianity does not call us to have a quiet, comfortable faith from our homes. It calls us to stand firm, protect the innocent and speak the truth. We must stand up for ourselves. Psalm 23:4 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

The massacre of Christians is being carried out by an Oromo-led regime. Evidence of this is that domestic media outlets have been prohibited from reporting on massacres targeting specific identities & religions. The massacres have persisted since PM Abiy took office and @hrw
The continued targeted attacks against Christians in Ethiopia are completely unacceptable. All parties to the conflict need to take steps to ensure that Christians and all people of faith are protected from this violence and that the perpetrators are punished.

are specifically directed at Amharas & Christians; the underlying motive is the demand that the 20 million Amharas who are property owners & residents in the Oromia region leave the area This is a state-orchestrated genocide, accompanied by strenuous efforts to conceal the crime

.@HouseForeignGOP glad that you showed your concern, please check @GPEthiopia, @AAA_Amhara @AmericaEthiopia and other independent OSINT sources that are solely established to be a voice for the voiceless people in Ethiopia, these are civic organizations that are run on a volunteer basis supported by the concerned Ethiopian diasporas. Cross checking your information with such sources that have a firm connection with the victims on the ground ensures that media that had known biases in the past will not control how such human rights incidents are reported going forward. Time and again Addis Standard has injected biased information regarding either victims or perpetrators of such attacks against ethnic Amharas and Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia in the past. I am grateful that they are reporting on the incident, but it is important that the narrative around these incidents is not maneuvered or controlled in a such a way that will deter victims from getting justice and for perpetrators to get unwarranted cover due to reporting that lacks clarity regarding perpetrators while the information already exists from what survivors and other data indicate. @JemalCountess @jeffpropulsion @_hudsonc @JMeservey @NEDemocracy @IngrahamAngle @RealCandaceO @OrthodoxyNews @ChristianEmerg1 @amanpour @ocptweets @HouseForeign
