My graduate students threw me a surprise party for my promotion to full professor! Pizza, cookie cake, & stories. Kind words were said that will remain in my heart. I was moved to hear that they feel respected, encouraged & endorsed! I’m grateful to work with amazing students!

Many of my graduate students (⁦@UT_PGE)⁩ joined in for a hike and potluck lunch today. A trail and home full of laughter! I’m stoked to be a #professor and to work with these amazing students!

Our 2022 #hackathon architects, Wen & Elnara, also completed great #DataScience research on optimum development of #subsurface #resources! In #Austin #Texas we celebrate with #tacos! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing #PhD students! #AcademicChatter

ENERGY AI #hackathon 2022 concluded last night, hosted by @johntfoster & @GeostatsGuy. All weekend ≈100 #longhorns, 20 teams from @CockrellSchool, @txgeosciences, @TexasScience & @UTexasMcCombs took on a tough #DataScience challenge. Acknowledgements @ bit.ly/3iGBd2H.

Yesterday I hosted many of my graduate students at my home for a trail hike and barbecue. We celebrated a fantastic semester before many go off to exciting internships. What an amazing group of #engineers and #geoscientists! Exercise outdoors and a home full of laughter. Stoked!
