🔥You are failing your core duty, @kajakallas by your post below
You are not a neutral mediator.
Your job is to stand firmly and effectively for the interests of all 27 EU member states — and therefore of Europe.
💥No pleasantries are due to powers that threaten European sovereignty and resources.
A one-line aside that the Turkey–Libya MoU “infringes upon the sovereign rights of third states,” followed by business as usual, is not a defence of EU member states.
That memorandum is an open illegal attempt to carve up Greek and Cypriot maritime space — waters that form part of EU territory under international law — using a failed state and its competing factions as cover.
Treating it as a minor agenda item while you devote the bulk of your energy to Russia sends a clear message: some member states’ borders and rights are negotiable.
The Mediterranean has a clear bully. Turkey is a modern pirate 🏴☠️ state: it does not recognise the Law of the Sea when it is inconvenient, continues illegal activities, and has now secured eastern Libya’s parliament’s ratification of the 2019 MoU.
Your job is to represent all 27 member states, not only the eastern flank.
Passivity and soft language on Europe’s south-eastern maritime borders do not de-escalate; they invite further faits accomplis.
What signal does this give to anyone who disrespects EU territory and international law? That words of regret and a private “I raised it” are enough?
EU High Representative means protecting every member state — not selective outrage.
Greece, Cyprus and the rest of the Mediterranean are watching and don’t think highly of your “diplomacy”!
Serious geopolitical powers give ultimatums to threatening bullies, not socializing with them, leaving members to look outside Europe for Security

I had an extensive discussion with my colleague @HakanFidan on a range of issues.
Good neighbourly relations and advancing the Cyprus settlement process are of high importance. I raised yesterday’s Libyan vote on a maritime MoU with Türkiye and stressed that it infringes upon the sovereign rights of third states.
On Russia’s dangerous Black Sea escalation, I emphasised the need to step up the pressure on Moscow to end the war. The EU and Türkiye both support a Black Sea freedom of navigation arrangement.
We also addressed developments in the South Caucasus and across the Middle East. Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and Yemen are textbook terror tactics and must end. In the Strait of Hormuz, Iran is making shipping dangerous and expensive. Freedom of navigation must be restored without tolls or fees.

Cyprus gets its COP31 invitation — but only on Turkey’s terms.
Erdogan invited the leaders of the other 26 EU countries while excluding President @Christodulides.
Brussels accepted a face-saving “compromise”: an unsigned email from a temporary organising body that will soon disappear. No demand for equal treatment of an EU member state.
An #EU with low standards, weak willpower, and confusion about Turkey’s threatening role is becoming Ankara’s hostage.
It signals unreliability, acts as an ATM rather than a geopolitical power, and encourages Neo-Ottoman military adventures in SE Europe. 🔥
Turkey has maintained a long-standing embargo blocking Cyprus-registered aircraft and ships from its airspace and ports.
The EU has done nothing in reciprocity.💥
The only way forward is for Greece & Cyprus to solidify a hard, reliable alliance with Israel in the EastMed. More willing powers will follow.

Israel strongly condemns the decision of the Libyan House of Representatives to ratify the Maritime Jurisdiction Memorandum between Turkey and Libya.
This agreement infringes upon the sovereign rights of our close allies in the region.
Regretfully, once again we see Turkey working to destabilise the east Mediterranean region.

💥The Libya setback for Greece shows that being a predictable, international-law-focused ally,no longer guarantees results in a transactional Mediterranean.🔥
In a Middle East where alliances are fluid, transactional, and increasingly untethered from old US-centric anchors, the eastern Mediterranean is becoming a test of who can operate in pure interest-driven CHAOS .
Eastern Libya’s ratification of the 2019 Turkey-Libya maritime MoU—long opposed by Greece—marks a clear setback for Athens. As Sean Mathews details in Middle East Eye, Greece’s partnerships with Egypt, the UAE, and Israel proved insufficient to block the move. Egypt and Turkey now converge on multiple fronts (Sudan, Somalia, opposition to Israeli expansion post-2023), the UAE is managing its differences with Ankara while backing Saddam Haftar’s ambitions, and Israel itself has engaged the Haftar camp (including a recent Netanyahu meeting with Saddam in UAE ).
A Turkish role in the east, by some Israeli calculations, may even tighten Greece’s dependence on Jerusalem.
Vassilis Nedos’s reporting aligns: Turkey and the UAE are jointly facilitating efforts to unify Libyan armed forces, while Israel has also sought a foothold in Benghazi. Libya politics remains moving sand.
This is not merely a bilateral Greece-Turkey or Greece-Libya problem. It reflects a broader reordering as the United States is in transition—less willing or able to underwrite regional security architectures. In that vacuum, states prioritize immediate gains (energy claims, political succession in Libya, countering rivals elsewhere) over consistent alignment with Greek or Cypriot maritime interests.
Greece and Cyprus cannot rely on the assumption that shared partners will automatically defend their positions. They must become sharper, more self-reliant actors: consolidate legal and operational control over their own maritime zones (including around Crete), deepen concrete economic and security stakes with WHOEVER delivers results, and treat the region as a competitive environment rather than a fixed alliance map.
🔥Real influence will come from demonstrated capacity to exercise power and selective, reciprocal partnerships—not from counting on yesterday’s alignments.
In a dangerous, multipolar Mediterranean, alertness and strategic autonomy are no longer optional.
💥”Why Greece's alliances failed to prevent eastern Libya's maritime deal with Turkey”

This is pretty much true from what I’m told. But don’t leave out the Israel component. Israel wants saddam in power too and a Turkish role there would, by Israeli calculations, make Greece even more dependent on Israel. Bibi met Saddam last month

Israel Is Giving The F-35I A Much Longer Arm
Israel already has the F-15 for long range strikes with weapons like Golden Horizon.
But what Israel is doing with the F-35I really caught my attention.
Israel is developing low observable extended range fuel tanks for the F-35I. The exact range increase is not public, but the whole point is clear. More fuel means more reach, more time on station and less dependence on aerial refueling during long range missions.
And this matters a lot when you are talking about missions as far away as Iran.
A tanker gives you range, but it also creates another dependency. You need the tanker, you need the right timing and you need to protect that tanker.
If the F-35I can carry more fuel from the start, Israel gets more freedom on long range missions.
Then you have SPICE 1000.
A 1,000 lb precision stand off weapon with a reported range of more than 120 km.
The F-35I already uses the GBU 31 JDAM, which is much heavier and more destructive than the small GBU 39 SDB.
But the GBU 31 has a major limitation. Its range is only around 24 km class, depending on launch conditions.
The GBU 39 can reach 70+ km, but it is only a small 250 lb class weapon.
This is where SPICE 1000 really gets interesting.
You are talking about a 1,000 lb class weapon with more than 120 km of stand off range.
So now the F-35I has the potential to fly farther, stay longer and release a much heavier weapon from much farther away.
That is a serious combination.
More fuel gives it longer legs.
Stealth makes it harder to find.
Sensors give it awareness.
SPICE 1000 gives it a much longer arm.
And when you put all of that together, the F-35I starts looking less like just a stealth fighter and more like a long range strike beast.
Israel is building an F-35I that can reach farther, rely less on tankers and strike from farther away. That is a very different level of long range air power.

🚗 "Made in Europe" pas "Made in Turkey"

he represents a self-serving fantasy where the Iranian regime isn’t “evil,” Hezbollah and Israel are moral equals, and Turkey/Qatar get the benefit of every doubt.
Pattern recognition isn’t conspiracy: the only parties who consistently like what comes out of his mouth are Ankara, Doha, and the mullahs.

IN GIOCO MOLTI INTERESSI 🇮🇹 ITALIANI. REAGISCONO ITALIA 🇮🇹, GRECIA 🇬🇷, FRANCIA 🇫🇷 E CIPRO 🇨🇾.
1. per rivendicare una maggior EEZ in un mare ricco di risorse;
REAGISCONO ITALIA 🇮🇹, FRANCIA 🇫🇷, CIPRO 🇨🇾 E GRECIA 🇬🇷
L'ESERCITAZIONE MILITARE EUNOMIA 2026.
