This post. So on point
I had hoped this result might end this but clearly it won't.
Chow has consistently and relentlessly called out hate crime and prejudice of all kinds - especially for the Jewish community. She has upped police presence, set-up command posts, expanded police hate crime units and - notably - taken a lot of heat for backing the (likely unconstitutional) bubble-zone laws - in a good faith effort to address community concerns.
And in response she's gotten abuse, ridicule, insults (often racist). She gets Ezra Levant bursting into meetings with synagogue leaders to scream insults. She gets a millionaire in a MAGA hat claiming she is a moral failure while making racist insults.
And she gets completely disingenuous claims that she shouldn't speak on foreign affairs coupled with claims that her jobs requires her to March with Israel - and support Trump's invasion of Iran.
She's better than I am. She still shows up - knowing that it gains her nothing.
If people want to take their political cues from political opportunists like Warren Kinsella, if they want to fund political hacks who sow division for partisan advantage, than they will face rejection.
But that is not a rejection of the Jewish community in this City. And I think those who claim it does are doing their community, and the whole City, a grave disservice.

Most, if not all of the Jewish folks I know, voted for Chow.

Is more worried about her property rather than this position is life threatening to this man.
Remember opioid prescriptions are the gateway to fentanyl

Hey @ElectionsCan_E
The account BiagioToronto broke the law and posted his voter ballot.
He has deleted it, but it was up for quite sometime and did not care that he broke the law.
We all know that even deleted tweets can be recovered. I truly hope you look into it.
Hey @cityoftoronto any way of the police getting involved for people who break the law on post the election ballots?
This part.
Replying to @noahcites
9/ Whoever represents Ward 14 needs to understand something simple:
Constituents aren't required to agree with their councillor to deserve representation.
And criticism of a politician isn't an attack. It's democracy.
Anyway, I hope you voted today. 🙂
you needed to show another piece of documentation that confirmed your name AND address.
It could have been your utility bill, your lease, your T4 slip, your pay stub.
If you bothered to look up what was required to vote you would have been prepared.

I was just turned away from voting in Toronto's municipal election even after presenting my voting reminder card with my name and address on it, my passport, and my Ontario health card -- unacceptable
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Voter information cards and passports are explicitly not acceptable ID for Toronto municipal elections, which require one piece showing name and qualifying address; health cards are accepted only in specific qualifying forms.

1/ Caryma Sa’d gave an interesting answer about homeless encampments at a Toronto council debate.
She discussed activists supposedly seeking confrontations with police, then declared “undue hardship” the guiding principle of human rights law.
There's a problem with that. 🧵

Actually, no.
Zionism is about 130 years old.
No Jewish text or teaching before that time was about taking over the Land of Israel by force and taking it from other people.
That is not a Jewish value. Our religion never proposed or suggested that.
Zionism, a modern, political ideology, arose as a rebellion against religion.

Its part of a campaign.
people ignore street signs because they are on the street. Perhaps they would not ignore them if they knew speeding on local roads can hurt someone.
“Since you don’t abide by signs, here’s who you hurt”
Its a very clever campaign.

Okay @bluebottle931, You do realize Doug Ford's provincial government controls rent increases, right?
The same government that exempted newer units from rent control in 2018.
You've somehow managed to blame Olivia Chow for Ontario's rent regulations.
