THE STORY OF THE DANS SULLIVAN… and how Democrats reportedly helped pick the Sullivan who isn’t a senator. As filed for the @CBSEveningNews…
Ed O'Keefe retweeted
Alaska’s Senate race is drawing scrutiny over allegations that aides to Democrat Mary Peltola helped recruit an independent candidate with the same name as Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan to confuse voters. Peltola’s campaign has repeatedly denied involvement, while President Trump called the alleged effort “outright cheating.” @EdOKeefe reports.

Asked El-Sayed for his reaction to this.
Part of his answer:
“To me, this election is about control of the United States Senate. It's about putting a check on Donald Trump. It's about addressing his effort to try and take away everything from religious freedom to our voting rights to union rights to health care and the big ugly bill. So if folks see another issue that is more important to them and decide that their disagreement with me on that is bigger than their agreement with me on all these other things, that is their choice.”
“We feel really strong about our ability to bring people together. There are always going to be some folks who have different opinions, and they're welcome to that. That's the beauty of democracy.”

NEW: John Thune's balancing act
For nearly two years, Thune has led the Senate GOP through unforgiving terrain, working to advance the president’s agenda, while protecting the upper chamber’s independence. But with the midterms closing in, will it be enough to keep his majority?

After careful consideration, and for the future of the City of Los Angeles, I will be voting for @MayorOfLA.

As a former contributing writer to the AP Stylebook, I'll make a ruling here: it should be "Dans Sullivan" like Surgeons General. Like Attorneys General, or courts martial. nitter.gq/migold/status/21147937…
She’s a “front row Joe,” or among the most loyal of President Trump’s supporters who’ve attended his rallies for years….
Well, I voted today. As many of you know, I had contemplated not voting for the first time in my adult life. I guess civic duty won out.
I normally vote straight ticket republican and have for 45 years. Today, I voted for ONE Republican, quite a few Libertarians, a write in candidate and two Democrats.
The Republican Party took a loyal voter like myself and spit in my face. Instead of doing what I always do and just vote R, I said NO.
I am of the belief the only thing that will correct the collusion course Republicans are on is to let the collusion occur, then throw every established leader out of the party and start over. At every local and state level the Republican party is corrupt. This is why bad candidates are put forth by the party. They choose the candidate and you are expected to conform to their choice. This is why burning it all down is the only way forward.
If this cannot be accomplished a new party of the people must be formed, it's the only way.

"The United States oil and gas business is making hundreds of billions of dollars," Trump said Saturday. "… Our country is making hundreds of billions of dollars because of what’s happened in the Middle East."
His oil and gas stock holdings are also making millions, a report from Dems on the Joint Economic Committee and obtained by CBS News finds.

🚨 NEW @cbsnewspoll: Democrats are currently on pace for 229 House seats in our @CBSNews House model estimate.
Potential range reaches to 237, but Republicans do still have a very narrow path to hold the majority.
And notable: While that Democratic lead has been durable over recent weeks, it hasn't expanded, either.

IS TRUMP ON THE TRAIL HELPING OR HURTING? His numerous appearances may help to rally the base behind GOP candidates, but those events may not have as much impact with the rest of the party.
Most MAGA Republicans say that when they see Trump campaigning for political candidates, it makes them more likely to vote for Republicans. For many non-MAGA Republicans, these campaign events do not do that.
