There needs to be less criticism of those that use their voices in this space to speak out against language and behaviour like this. We have seen people attack @mimitheblogger for doing so many times. image credits @perspectivg on instagram.

Women absolutely need more respect in the UK underground. It's a conversation that we MUST have. Even in the replies of criticism on the topic, women are still reduced to sex objects. This is disgusting behaviour and it must be corrected. Respecting women does not = solicitation.

New Yorkers our cousins for real nobody over there has embraced our scene quite like them wether that be Asap Mob & Skepta, 22gz pioneering a different sound in Brooklyn drill or pop smoke doing a whole album with one of our producers
Dave East pays homage to UK Rap in London, spitting bars over the UK classic “Pain is the Essence” 🇬🇧🔥

That’s when you take the leap and try to make a career from proudly being the weird guy who’s really into music. (I will be getting TikTok videos out soon I again I know I’ve been gunshy for a while but I promise I wanna hit the ground running soon)
Being into music is seen as cool until you really really get into music and then you're seen as that weird guy

More a basketball guy here so help me understand: do you mean we should treat Balon Dor’s in the same way I would treat NBA/Euroleague MVPs? (They’re more relevant when ur stacking multiple of them rather than winning one off the back of a wonder season)
anyone that brings up balon dor argument outside of messi v ronaldo (same era directly competing) has already lost

I hate it when people compare rappers who aren’t even remotely trying to achieve the same thing. Comparing Nettspend to a Chief Keef or a Nas is like comparing apples to raisins. Plenty of fans like all 3 of them for 3 different sets of reasons.
Replying to @Floccon1
my opinion is that nettspend clears all them old mf rappers

Idk how true this is but it does remind me of a great point @mimitheblogger made about how our UK superstars feel a bit too familiar to us now. Could explain why this sort of stuff can happen.
Smack introduces Dave at NOME and the crowd act like it's just Dave from down the road. Smack introduces Conway, the crowd lose it. UK continues to act so stush for homegrown talent, man 😩

Youngs Teflon is the best of the veterans in UK Road/Street Rap and is the best candidate to lead it fwd imo. I wanna see him delve into UK/US hiphop, he would shine among Roc Marciano, Kofi Stone, Stove god cooks, Action Bronson. Akai Solo, Navy Blue, Lord Apex and more!
It doesn’t make sense for a man to rap this good. Tef might be an alien 😭

This is a good point: we gotta stop begging for such opportunities with a “why did WE let” attitude and start proving we undeniably deserve them to the point where that’s never even a thought.
Replying to @Ed_Rants
Yes that’s all great but this “why did WE let” attitude Brits have like sorry when did you become the CEO of FIFA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Imagine if Jim Legacxy performed ‘06 Wayne Rooney then bringing out Dave to perform 3x at the open of the Ballon d’Or in London?! Like that moment would build so much hype. It would have been a lot more moving than what French Montana ended up doing here.
How are we letting French Montana open the Ballon d’Or in London? So many UK rappers deserved this more.

I’m a huge believer in the same way there is a rapper/rap sub genre for everyone, there’s also a rock band/rock sub genre for everyone. There’s no way that there’s 0 rock music that you like given it’s one of the most diverse genres ever alongside rap/hiphop
im sorry but rock music is like the corniest shit ever to me bro

For me I like British indie stuff like Bloc Party, the rap rock infusions from the likes of Kid Bookie, City Morgue, JD Cliffe but I also have a taste for metalcore bands like Spiritbox and somehat heavier stuff like Loathe and Nova Twins. Too much variety to write off Rock!

Time for the test to see how good we greens are at applying consensus politics and adversarial politics simultaneously as the topic/issue/policy calls for it. There’s no genuine reason we should flat out oppose him on Carer’s Allowance for example
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced five "everyday fixes" ahead of the Budget 1. Carer's Allowance will be changed so carers no longer lose their entire benefit when they earn over the limit - instead, their support will reduce by £1 for every extra £1 they earn 2. Import tariffs will be removed on more than 100 products, including baked beans, chocolate and gherkins, to save households up to £21 on their food shop a year 3. Tax-free mileage rates for workers using their own cars will be made permanent at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, with the rate for additional miles rising from 25p to 35p 4. Parental pay will be extended to over 150,000 more parents a year, including self-employed fathers and partners 5. Hundreds more Post Office drop boxes will be rolled out to save people queueing at branches

Eh I feel this is more amount of who is saying it and their intentions in doing so. I get that this looks like yt rap fan respectability politics (only high brow blk art is acceptable, the “ghetto” subgenres taint it) but u can still hate a subgenre without doing all that.
im sorry but them saying they HATE a sub-genre of hip hop is really odd to me. these white ppl being comfortable enough to loathe how a black art form takes shape… it’s way more disrespectful than we make it seem #ngl

It becomes more obvs if you ask them to explain why/if they think Trap music (or in this case Rage) is “real hiphop”. The answer is usually racially charged as hell which lets u know, but i cba to watch nuff NFR episodes to work that out.
