4× more of our PRs pass first review now, since we started running one skill at the end of every coding session. We just open sourced it. It's called make-native. AI love writing new code. And bad at making it look like it belongs: a flag here, an if (isNew) there, a copy of a component "just for this case". make-native runs at the end of a session and: → finds the bolted-on code → finds the helpers, patterns and types that already do the job → rewrites the feature to use them and deletes the rest Works with Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Opencode ++ Free. Don't sleep on this! Speedrun was amazing for us 😍
hey all - update for SR008: It's now the FINAL weekend to apply for our next residency in San Francisco. Applications close this Sunday, Nov 1 at 11:59 PM PT. Here's the link: speedrun.a16z.com/apply How it works: - you apply - we review, reach out to get introduced, etc - if there's a fit, we handshake and sign - we wire our investment right away! - plus you get access to >$10M in credits right away - you'll onboard + start working with us immediately, have access to working out of our SF offices, etc The official residency starts Feb 2027 where we'll have speakers, office hours, and much more. I plan to be on site and look forward to meeting many of you You might ask- who's the best fit for this? We want to talk to you as early as possible, and that means: - no company yet - no deck - no huge insight tweet thread - sometimes not even fully committed yet You don't need the perfect idea. We can start working together when you're iterating and getting the idea off the ground. That's the whole point of speedrun - it's our way of backing you from Day 0. More official stuff below: - Deadline is this Sunday, Nov 1 at 11:59 PM PT (this weekend!) - SR008 runs Feb 1 through April 18, 2027 in San Francisco -- twelve weeks of firesides, office hours, and sessions, closing out with Demo Day on April 13 in front of thousands of investors - Capital: up to $1M with a two-week close target, plus $10M+ in credits from 200+ partners - Customers: SR Insiders gets you in front of 10,000+ buyers and operators, including 150+ C-suite execs, plus a full day of live demos at AI Faire - Talent: our Talent Network of 171,000+ engineers, designers, and product people. 230+ hires so far, $0 in fees. Plus visa, banking, and housing help if you're coming from abroad - A team of ~40 battle-tested investors and operators who help cover your gaps without adding headcount -- GTM, marketing, brand, talent, fundraising, and more - a16z speedrun is super selective -- fewer than 0.4% of applicants get in. You'll join a tight-knit community of founders from 20+ countries who stay involved as speakers, advisors, and often each other's first customers - Still in school or still finding your idea/team? Check out the alpha fellowship too -- up to $250K for students, recent grads, and dropouts

We just made Grand Theft Oslo, and added the new @Tesla Roadster to it 😅🚀 Full city, made from real map data, and the Sloyd MCP (coming soon) with Opus 5.5: - map from OpenStreetMap - official maps (Kartverket) - road markings, curbs, sidewalks, crossings from the Road Authorities (Vegvesenet), - it even has the correct city bike stations from Oslo Bysykkel 🤣 I love how it even added the side boosters for steering. Amazing work from our intern Martin Truong, who got inspired from the GTA Helsinki version by @labasaari 👏 WDYT @elonmusk?

You can now turn a character idea into a loop-ready spritesheet in @SloydAi! Describe your character or upload a reference photo, and it generates evenly spaced frames that actually loop! Packed and ready for your engine 🔥

I just made a 3D model harness for Astra. It is actually insane. Every demo of Astra shows amazing models but secretly took hours to make and cost hundreds of $$. With our harness it made this 3D model in @SloydAi in literally 3 minutes. Reply for early access.

The fact that people actually think this is real tells me people have a LOT of faith in what AI can do now 🤣
This is what Astra did in Blender in 30 seconds. We are so unbelievably cooked.

Things are about to get CERY interesting
GPT-6 Astra is our best model yet for computer use, software engineering, and visual understanding to date. Hear from the builders putting it to work:

Type a prompt → a loop-ready character sprite sheet. Sloyd's new Spritesheet Generator turns a prompt or image into looping frames for use in 2D games or animations. Background removed, frames sliced, packed and ready to use. Game-ready in seconds!

I painted my deck and this is what it taught me about building a startup: - it takes longer than you think. -devil's in the details. - it helps to build do it with a friend. - just when you think you're done, there's always something more. more below

3/4 - don't waste your paint. The drive to the shop is long (yes im talking about money and raising from investors -it takes time) - you need more paint than you think (and you might need more money than you think) - prep work is everything.

4/4 - you have to learn new things and techniques along the way. - improvise. - if you didn't post it to social media, it's like it never happened.
