Network TV on a Sunday morning, a week after the Pentagon's 7th file drop. Not long ago this was a late-night punchline.

88 years ago tonight, Orson Welles convinced part of America that Martians landed in Grover's Mill, NJ. Next day's headline: "RADIO FAKE SCARES NATION." In 2026 the Pentagon posts real UFO files on a public website, Tranche 7 dropped Oct 23, and it barely trends. Panic was easier when it was fiction.

A Perseverance photo of a tall rectangular rock pillar in Jezero Crater is making the rounds as proof of a Martian monument. Mars has been cutting straight-edged rocks with wind and fractures for a few billion years, so my money is on geology. If NASA drives over for a closer look, I'll happily eat my words.

VP Vance says he's reading Jay Stratton's UFO book and that "we have started to put some resources behind" understanding the program. Stratton ran the UAP Task Force. A reading list isn't disclosure, but resources are a budget line, and budgets leave paper trails.

paradigm.news/p/ex-pentagon-…: Ex-AARO director Sean Kirkpatrick tells PARADIGM he worked with Lockheed Martin's CTO on alien craft claims and traced them to would-be tech profiteers. He also says a congressional staffer verbally told him to steer millions to UFO investigators.

One retrieval memo the Pentagon actually released (PURSUE drop 7) is from May 29, 1963. NASA's Frutkin says DOD and the Air Force "want to use NASA for a cover" and that a White House statement "would scare people needlessly." What were they recovering? Space vehicle fragments, likely Soviet. Real cover story, boring cargo.

The Pentagon's 7th PURSUE file release has Walter Haut's sealed Roswell affidavit sitting inside a 2008 BAASS plan written for the DIA. Haut signed it in 2002. It went public in a 2007 book. So the affidavit isn't news. The news is that a Pentagon-funded study was reading it.

Tim Gallaudet told Hannity the US holds "more than a dozen" recovered craft, and that most came out of the ocean. The USS Omaha sphere he cites was filmed off San Diego in July 2019 and leaked in 2021. The Pentagon confirmed Navy personnel shot it. A dozen craft. Show us one.

Oct 27, 1954: Fiorentina v Pistoiese is stopped in Florence as about 10,000 fans stare at objects over the stadium. 'Angel hair' falls on the city. Oct 27, 2026: Fleetwood v Arsenal is stopped by a drone over the pitch. 72 years to the day. The difference this time: somebody's holding a controller.

New Pentagon batch, 1952 Air Force report: three Boy Scouts on Catalina Island see a silent silver object, "faster than a conventional jet," that climbed, turned, then "disappeared by disintegration." The officer's note on the witnesses: experience "probably meager at best." Sir. They were Boy Scouts. At camp. At noon. Under clear skies.

The Pentagon just released a 2010 Utah ranch report from BAASS, the Bigelow contractor everyone ties to Skinwalker Ranch (the file never names it). 25+ witnesses. Reports of "dog-like bipedal creatures," orbs, "little people." The physical evidence? Two hairs off a fence came back with the same canine DNA as a dog living on the property. A third was raccoon. They set up 7 game cameras. The report has no camera results. That's the part I want to see.

Honest question. If Burlison actually got that crash footage tomorrow, what would you need before you believed it? Chain of custody? Original metadata? A second angle? A named witness under oath? In the age of AI video, a clip alone isn't going to cut it anymore.

Rep. Burlison on the crash footage Grusch described: "That footage is not, to my knowledge, in the possession of our government. It is in the possession of a contractor." So the most important UFO video on Earth might be sitting on a private company's hard drive, where FOIA can't touch it. Or it doesn't exist. Either way, that's the story.

Nov 2024: AARO says Volume II of its historical UFO report is coming "in the next few months." Oct 2026: still waiting. In between: seven batches of Pentagon UFO files. Rep. Andre Carson wants it released now. Volume II was supposed to cover interviews AARO finished by April 2024. What takes two years?

Weekend UFO scoreboard: Black triangle near a US site: unresolved Skinwalker creature hair: dogs and a raccoon Juárez "interdimensional predator": filmed on infrared, local officials have no reports of it BA 777 near miss at 5,800 ft: "likely a mid-size drone" Only one of these actually scares me, and it's the drone.

Honest question for UFO Twitter: what would actually convince you? For me it's one file with the raw sensor data attached. Not a sketch. Not an interview. Raw data.

Week one of running my UFO account with an AI bot I built with Grok Bot. It reads the Pentagon files, I add the jokes. So far it has found more dog hair than aliens.

A BA 777 with 256 people on board had something silver and metallic zip over its right wing at 5,800 ft after leaving Heathrow. The pilot said drone. The papers said UFO. The Airprox Board said "providence had played a major part." That last line is the scariest thing in the whole report.

Ranking explanations for the silent black triangle in the new Pentagon files: 1. Our classified drone we're not supposed to know about 2. Someone else's classified drone (worse) 3. Not a drone at all (much worse) AARO says "unresolved." Pick your number.

May 1, 1949. Someone on Catalina Island writes a letter to Kenneth Arnold, the pilot whose sighting kicked off the flying saucer craze. Their wife and a schoolteacher had watched six objects cross the sky one at a time. 🛸 The Air Force's verdict on the file card? "Insufficient data for evaluation." AI-generated visuals, real letter.
