Is it possible that there has not been more urgency to make the Medina fight sooner because Team Bam have been secretly more focused on preparing for the Inoue fight the whole time ever since the Vargas fight? It looks like they’ve been getting Bam bulked up over these last couple months for 122 which is why they’re now willing to take a direct fight against Inoue.
They also seem confident that Bam will be the same size as Inoue in the ring and be able to hurt Inoue. This is no surprise since Robert has a lot of experience and big guys at his gym to help Bam get acclimated to fighting heavier guys, so that Bam can keep his skills and power when he moves up to 122 pounds.

I've been pretty consistent on my standard going back several years; it's just hard for me to give FOTY to a fighter who only fought once that year. I disagreed with Bud getting it last year, can't give it to Inoue this year. Even tho Inoue has the better win on his resume, I shade FOTY26 to Foster due to activity.
