I hope you prepared well and sharpened your leads
before those darn sugar plums invade your heads.
So be well from now through the rest of the year.
May editors and pencils share holiday cheer!
– Your pal Giant Pencil
And finally, I leave you with holiday well-wishes from me, Giant Pencil:
‘Twas my last night of hosting and needed a pun
with some pencils and snowflakes and holiday fun.
We’ve learned lots of sharp tips for editors here.
And pencils, I don’t want your graphite to smear…
Keep sending those holiday greetings for your fellow Editors of Earth and your trusty account admins will retweet them for the world to see. (I won't be offended if you don't have a pencil in your holiday well-wishes, but writing implements will still score bonus points with me!)
3. Consider this your invitation to the next @Edsguild Red Pencil conference on 9/21/19 in Seattle. All editors are welcome. (Info at edsguild.org.)
4. Sign up to host this @EdsofEarth account for a week. If a pencil can do it, so can you! sites.google.com/view/editor…
My dear pencil-riffic edibuddies, before I sign off for the week and rest my weary lead, I want to remind you of a few items:
1. You can find me occasionally over at @Edsguild fulfilling my pencil mascot duties.
2. Find resources and my pencil puns at edsguild.org.
No chewing, please my cedar casing is delicate. 😉✏️ I do enjoy a good twirl now and then and that magical rubber pencil move, though.
We'll get things started with this pencil-riffic greeting from my friend, Ontario editor @ElizdAnjou:
"What do I wish for editors and their writing implements? May you all stay sharp, produce clear, flawless sentences, and remain unchewed."
Giant Pencil here for the last day of my hosting gig No. 2!
Let's end 2018 on a fine point. Please share *YOUR* holiday well-wishes for editors (and their writing implements).
Bonus points if you include a photo with your favorite pencil—it will warm my little graphite heart.
Your pal Giant Pencil here welcoming you to the weekend!
Even if you're working today, I hope you all get to take a break (as in a rest, not like snapped lead) and have some fun.
But how do editors have fun? Let the other Eds of Earth know how you let your graphite rest.
Editors, stop working. Put down your red pens. Pick up a book or your cat. Or think of one thing that brings you joy. Repeat whenever you need a lift. May you enter the new year with a peaceful mind and heart. –@karenyin
Tonight's holiday well-wishes make a great eraser-cap-ending to our last two days of discussions about health and goal-setting.
They come from California editor @karenyin, founder of @consciousstyles, @APvsChicago, and @editorsofcolor (and also my pencil-riffic buddy)…
And remember, your goals don't have to be perfectly pointed, but can be as simple as cleaning out your desk.
Ontario editor @ElizdAnjou shared this photo of her pencil-riffic findings after cleaning up her office earlier this year. (Let her know if you need to borrow a pen!)
