Treasury Department announces it is sanctioning what looks like a legitimate maritime network, but Treasury believes it supports Iran's "shadow fleet". The announcement today is sanctioning a law firm that Treasury says helped set up the shadow fleet network. FinCEN also issued the first administration subpoena under the Bank Secrecy Act for more information related to a bank in Greece that may have helped support Iran's shadow fleet. 6 European banks have also been asked for more information related to dealings with Iran. #Iran #Oil

State of sanctions play on Russia: Currently, Treasury issued a general license to allow the sale of Russian diesel fuel now through 12:01a April 7, 2027. In a separate issue the 30 day clock, started when POTUS signed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia Act of 2026, ended this past weekend. The law would have to be implemented. However, sources tell me the Administration needed more time to write all the legal stuff to make sure the sanctions in the Law targeted the right areas. Because of that POTUS signed an Executive Order Friday pushing back implementation of the Law until mid-December to allow the correct language to be composed fitting the spirit of the law.
