.@NASAFermi Nets Nearly 300 Gamma-Ray Pulsars … and Counting – One in six of the discoveries were made by @mpi_grav researchers.
1 catalog,
294 gamma-ray emitting pulsars and 34 candidates,
53 pulsars discovered at @mpi_grav and with @EinsteinAtHome.

ALT The entire sky as seen by NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. The plane of the Milky Way runs along the horizontal line in the middle. The grey scale shows the intensity of the observed gamma radiation. Small blue circles mark the pulsars in the now published catalog. Yellow and red circles show the 53 gamma-ray pulsars discovered by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Hannover. The yellow circles mark the gamma-ray pulsars discovered by the Einstein@Home distributed computing project, and red circles the gamma-ray pulsars found with the Atlas computer cluster.

If you haven't heard, GPU work is ending at @MilkyWayatHome . The project will continue but will be CPU only. We are recommending moving to @EinsteinAtHome if you want to keep crunching GPU work for similar research.

Pulsars don’t have to be in binaries to make #GravitationalWaves - they can produce continuous waves too. The @EinsteinAtHome @mpi_grav team explained how home computers are helping the search for these signals (p. 18)
