You need ward coordinators, local government coordinators, community influencers, and a functional structure that reaches even the most remote villages. You can have millions of people shouting your name online, but if you cannot translate that support into votes at the polling units, what exactly have you achieved? Peter Obi may have a strong online following, but there is a huge difference between being popular on social media and having an effective political structure across the country.
