"Can you explain why this member is getting a promotion after he ripped off the people of this province?" On the first day of the fall sitting, Premier Ford dodges questions about why Stan Cho, who resigned from cabinet this summer after charging taxpayers for local hotel stays, has been promoted to an education role with a $22K pay bump.

I’m so honoured to serve another term as your City Councillor. For 2 years, we’ve worked together to build safer neighbourhoods, manage traffic, & create a stronger, more connected community. We’ve accomplished so much — and we’re just getting started! Here’s to another 4 years.

Most, if not all of the Jewish folks I know, voted for Chow.
My reaction to last night's result in my hometown: "A vote for Chow was, if nothing else, a vote that didn’t care about what Toronto’s Jewish community has suffered. In the overwhelming majority of cases, I suspect people never even thought about it at all."

Another stat for the nerds: 563,124 votes were cast in total in Toronto's last regular mayoral election in 2022 (ie. not a by-election). 532,201 votes were cast for Olivia Chow alone in 2026.

Turnout in Toronto's election was about 46%. For those of us who obsess over politics, it's sobering that more than half of eligible voters just couldn't be bothered. And 46% is higher than it's been in the last few contests toronto.citynews.ca/2026/10/…

Time to put away the shorts, for the summer break at Queen’s Park has finally come to an end. While the hiatus allowed the government to avoid scrutiny during question period, opposition parties say a number of issues have built up over the summer and fall, giving political critics plenty of issues to grill the Progressive Conservatives on. globalnews.ca/news/12121679/… #onpoli

To all the Chow supporters tempted to dunk on Bradford. Give the Mayor some credit! The story of last night is not that Bradford under-performed, it's that the Mayor over-performed. Last night, @BradMBradford won 404,013 votes. For context: Rob Ford in 2010: 383,501 John Tory in 2014: 394,775 John Tory in 2018: 479,659 John Tory in 2022: 342,158 I know your entire identity is about hating anyone to the right of Fidel Castro but it's making you miss what is a very positive story for your team.

A useful reminder that Polymarket is not a poll, and it is not a probabilistic forecast - it is pool of predominantly young men placing bets based on those things.
Free. Fall. I’ve never seen anything like this. You MIGHT imply the ‘25 Federal Election was like this - that’s a faulty narrative. LIB/CPC lead was back in Liberal favour by early February - a month after Trudeau quit. #Toronto This is a choke. It’s incredible.
